Although I sacrificed my own life to see my family again just to kill this one specific boy, I still blended in with everyone. The demon described him in great detail, so I didn't have to ask anyone around if they've seen or known someone named Tanjirou. I've been getting barely any rest since the demon who killed my family kept me awake, saying things like, "He'll get further from our reach if you stall so much time" or "Do you really want to give up now and not see your family again?". I hated everything about him. I rarely got any proper sleep and I've been getting a bit skinner than usual from the lack of food.
I sighed and drank a bit of water before walking further into the mountains. According to my demon, Tanjirou is located somewhere in the mountains I'm at and should be resting in an abandoned cottage for the night, so I headed over there.

I opened my eyes, even though they felt heavy and I wanted to keep them closed. I was laying on a futon in a random house, so I sat up and looked around a bit, just to see someone matching all my descriptions sleeping not too far from me. He had ruffled burgundy hair and was wearing a checkered dark turquoise and black patterned haori. He also had what seemed to be a scar on the top left of his forehead. This was Tanjirou Kamado, the person I had to kill. I wanted to stand up, but I was too tired to move, so I just laid back down and closed my eyes to drift back to sleep.

When I woke up, I headed outside to stretch a bit. Tanjirou and Nezuko, who my demon also gave me information about, were still sleeping.
"Just kill them while they're still unconscious!" My demon exclaimed, grabbing my shoulder tightly.
My demon is a physical being that appears at its own will, mainly beside me because of our promise, so now there's always a demon on my shoulder monitoring at everything I do. Only good thing was that it couldn't read my thoughts or take over my body, at least that's what he told me.
"Not right now," I muttered. "Now's not the right time."
My demon groaned and disappeared, clearly angry I couldn't do my mission properly, making me sigh as I sat down in the soft grass. I closed my eyes and tried to control my breathing, but everything going in my mind kept me from breathing steadily, so I opened my eyes and held my head in frustration.
"Is this really all worth the trouble to kill someone just to see my family again...?" I thought to myself as I let out another sigh.
"Is something wrong?" A male voice said behind me.
I turned around to see Tanjirou, his hair now messy from moving on his futon a lot and he was rubbing his eyes to wake himself up a bit.
"I'm just having trouble remembering what happened before I found myself in the cottage with you guys." I smiled reassuringly to him.
It was true at the fact I didn't remember how I ended up in the cottage. All I could remember was walking up the mountain before everything went black.
"Oh well, me and my sister Nezuko found you unconscious on the ground while we were trying to find some more food for ourselves." He explained. "Are you feeling better now?"
I nodded at him. "Yes, I'm feeling better now. Thank you for helping me."
He smiled at me. "It's no problem at all. Oh, but I should introduce myself to you." He chuckled. "My name's Tanjirou Kamado and I already mentioned my sister's name earlier to you."
I laughed a bit. "And my name's (Y/n) (L/n)."
Tanjirou and I talked a bit more as we waited for Nezuko to wake up. We talked about our past and it seemed like both our families were killed a demon, but unlike him, not one of my siblings survived. When Nezuko finally woke up, Tanjirou asked her to go into a wooden basket. She shrunk and made herself comfortable inside the basket and Tanjirou petted her head before covering her with a blanket, making sure every space is sealed from the sun's light. He carried her on his back and asked if I wanted to come with them. I said yes and we headed to whatever place he had on his mind. Although I was a demon myself, I was only part one since it hasn't fully spread throughout my body, so the sun was no problem for me.

I stared at the table of food Sakonji Urokodaki, the Water Pillar, set up for all of us to eat. I wanted to eat, but I couldn't find my appetite to eat anything, so I just told him I wasn't hungry, but Tanjirou thought otherwise.
"But you haven't eaten anything ever since we found you!" He exclaimed. "You even denied eating anything I gave you on our way here!"
"I'm just not hungry..." I sighed.
"How long have you not eaten anything?" Sakonji asked me.
"In almost 3 weeks from now..." I bit the side of my cheek a bit as I confessed.
Sakonji and Tanjirou both sighed and Sakonji handed me his food, which I denied, but he forced me to eat anyways, so I complied. I took a piece of the cooked chicken breast he had and stuffed it in my mouth as long as with some rice to go with it. It tasted savory and it was delicious, but I still didn't have an appetite to eat anything, but I continued trying to eat anyway since I didn't want to get scolded at. Once I finished, I felt like I was going to vomit. The lack of food I had on my own made me not have much of an appetite anymore, so the amount of food I consumed was pushing itself out of my body, but I tried to hold it in since I didn't want to be disrespectful in front of everyone. Tanjirou noticed and asked me if I was okay. I stood up and rushed outside, vomiting whatever I just ate. Tanjirou followed me worriedly and rubbed my back as I coughed and gagged a bit after I stopped vomiting. Tanjirou handed me a towel to clean myself up, still a bit worried about what happened.
"Are you sure you're feeling okay, (y/n)?" He asked worriedly.
"I'm sorry for worrying you. My body can't keep the food down as much as it used to..." I murmured as I didn't meet his gaze.
"You don't have to apologize, (y/n). We should be the ones to say sorry for forcing you to eat so much..." His voice grew softer as he spoke.
I shook my head and looked at him. "No. It's fine, Tanjirou. You guys were just worried for me and I appreciated it." I smiled at him.
I saw his face turn a bit pink, but I didn't bother questioning why. Tanjirou helped me up and we both headed back inside. Nezuko was sleeping since it was still bright out and Sakonji came to embrace me, apologizing for making me eat the food. I wasn't supposed to be affectionate towards people like my demon told me to, but it felt so nice, so I accepted the embrace, tearing up a bit as I buried my face into Sakonji's chest a bit.
