chapter fourty four;

November 20, 1984

"Roger I think it's happened," I said excitedly.

"Huh? What?" He asked in a husky voice as he woke up.

"I just got sick, I think I might be-"

"Maddie! Let me run to the store and get you a test really quick," he said.

I've never seen Roger get up and dressed faster than he just did. He grabbed his keys and told me bye as he ran out the huge front doors.

My hand went to my mouth as I ran to the nearest bathroom. Holly Mae walked in and I saw she was kind of confused.

"Mummy are you alright?" She asked.

"Oh yes I'm fine sweetie. Not feeling too well this morning s'all," I said sweetly.

She nodded and walked out. I threw up once more when she got out so that she wouldn't worry about me as much.

As I threw up, a shooting pain went across my body. That's something I had never felt. Tears streamed down my face as I closed my eyes and threw up.

It had only been a few minutes, but I heard the front doors slam shut and the bathroom door I was in burst open.

"Maddie I've got it- Oh love let me help you," he said so soothingly.

I nodded and felt his hand rest on my back. He pulled my hair back and rubbed circles on my back as I got sick once more.

"Here take two, just to be sure," he said.

"Thanks, and that was really fast," I laughed as I stood up.

I wobbled at first, but Roger was there to catch me when I almost fell.

I assured him I was alright and closed the door. I took both the pregnancy tests, and now I was just waiting on the results.

"Has it showed yet?" Roger asked from outside.

I opened the door and motioned him in. He sat on the toilet and saw the tests that didn't have results yet.

"Not just yet, maybe just a few more minutes," I said.

He pulled me into his lap as I wrapped my legs around his waist. I put my arms around his neck and rested my head in the crook of his neck.

"God just imagine another baby," Roger said.

"I still can't believe they thought you were hurting me," I said as I bursted into a fit of laughter.

He chuckled as I sat up in his lap. His big blue eyes met mine, and I smiled as I touched my lips to his.

I backed away and looked at both the tests.

Positive.

"Maddie!" Roger shouted as his voice cracked.

I looked at him as he teared up with happiness. I pulled him into a big and hug and started bawling in his shoulder.

"Another miracle child," I whispered.

"Our miracle child," he said as he rested his hand on my stomach.

"I love you."

"I love you too Maddie."
