chapter four;

March 3, 1980

"Thanks again Freddie for keeping the twins while we go to this doctors appointment," Roger said as he waved goodbye to the twins.

"It's not a problem darling, I love my little Ben and Holly Mae," Freddie said as he picked up the twins one by one.

We told him bye and made our way to the doctors office. God, deep down I had a nervous feeling.

Thirty minutes later.

"Madelyn Taylor," the doctor said as he looked at Roger and I.

The receptionist let out a small cheer for Roger, which I thought was a bit funny.

"Alright Mrs. Taylor, please lay down there and life up your shirt," the woman said as she filled out what I'm guessing was a medical form.

I did as he said, and Roger sat in a chair next to me and intertwined his fingers with mine. He pressed a kiss against my wedding ring and rubbed circles on my hand.

"Alright, let's get the baby all checked out," the doctor said.

She squeezed a bit of cold gel onto my stomach, which made me flinch a bit. She chuckled and grabbed the wand so we could see the baby on the overhead monitor.

Roger was a bit confused. He couldn't really see anything because the baby was still a bit small.

"Woah, I'm afraid I've got some news," the doctor said as she took another look at the monitor.

"Is something wrong?" I asked worriedly.

"You're expecting twins again," she smiled softly.

My eyes widened, almost popped out of my head. I held my grip tighter on Roger's hand, and his tightened on mine. I looked over at Roger who had his jaw dropped to the ground.

"Holy shit-" Is all he got out.

"I- more twins-" I stuttered.

A tear of happiness stroll down my cheek as I looked over at Roger who's eyes were watery.

"Twins," I said softly.

"Twins," he said as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

"Could you possibly tell us the genders?" I asked as I looked back at the doctor.

She smiled and nodded and she moved the wand around to get a view.

"There's your baby girl, and there's your other baby girl," she said as she moved the wand around.

"Could we hear the heartbeats?" I asked.

She nodded and turned on the sound, Roger was still in awe.

"See, mom's heartbeat then there's two more," she said.

"I- Well thank you so much, I don't think I would've had twins a second time," I chuckled.

"Are any of your family members twins?" She asked.

"I'm pretty sure my grandmother was a twin, then my dad is but I'm sure his brother died," I said.

"Seems you've gotten lucky with twins two times," she laughs.

"Guess so, now we've got more news to tell the boys," Roger smiled.

The doctor helped me get cleaned off, and I've never been so scared in my life.

Two sets of twins.

"Oh before you go, could I have your autographs?" She asked.

We nodded and she pulled out a piece of paper. We signed it and she thanked us then we made our way to Freddie's to pick up the twins.

Thirty minutes later.

I knocked on the door, more nervous than I ever had been. We had to tell Freddie because we already knew he was going to question.

"Maddie, Roger! Hello darlings, the twins were just playing with the cats. Come on in," he smiled as he motioned us in.

"Thank you again for watching them, they just really seem to love your house," I said.

"Mummy!" They said in unison. They ran as fast as they could to run into my arms.

"Hello my angels," I said as I kissed both their cheeks.

"Hi daddy," they said as the moved on to Roger. He picked them up and pressed a kiss on their foreheads. Holly wrapped her arms around his neck and that made my heart absolutely melt.

"So how's the baby?" Freddie asked.

"Babies, they're fine," I said. Freddie's eyes widened just like mine did at the office.

"Another set of twins?! Holy shit Maddie how does that happen," he laughed as he came in for a group hug.

"It's in her blood I guess," Roger said as he set the twins down to hold their hands.

"I'm still so happy for you, I'll spoil these as much as I do for Ben and Holly Mae," Freddie clapped his hands.

We talked for a while until we finally made our way home. Knowing that there were two more lives growing inside of me.
