The next day

I woke up dizzily, I looked around the room and remembered I was in the hospital. I remembered exactly what happened, and tears came to my eyes once more as I remembered my son.

I looked over at Roger and saw him squirm in his sleep, then he opened his eyes and dashed to my side. I didn't really have much time to comprehend what was happening, but it was just a lot to take in.

"How are you petal?"

"Terrible."

"I know Mads, but it just takes time. He might have to stay in the hospital for a while until he grows to the newborn size," Roger sighed.

I nodded as I bursted into tears, unsure of what to say next. After everything up to this point Roger has been by my side through thick and thin. I can't explain how much love I have for this man, even if we have had our down moments.

"Thank you," I said as I cried into his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and patted me on the back.

"No, thank you."

I pulled back and looked at him in confusion, "For what?"

"For letting me have you."

Just then my father and the kids came in. I smiled as I saw the rest of the band behind them. I wiped my eyes to make myself look more presentable, but it probably didn't help much.

"Mommy!" Eden shouted as they all ran to the side of my bed.

"How are you feeling darling?" Freddie asked quickly.

"I'm still in a bit of pain, but I'm just broken. He's a micro preemie, and he has a low chance of living. Still waiting on something from the doctors," I sighed as I pulled the kids up one by one with the help of Roger.

"Oh I'm so sorry sweetie, we'll be here to help in any way," my dad smiled.

I thanked them all as the kids were messing around with Roger, causing me to giggle. Just then, the doctor came in the room. I quickly sat up and asked what the news was.

"Alright, there's good news and bad news," he says.

"Good news first," I said.

"Alright, there's a way we can save your baby, but the bad news is that it will have a higher chance body defects."

Me and Roger looked at each other then back at the doctor, we nodded and smiled that there was a chance of our baby being saved. I'm extremely relieved that the baby can be saved. I'm sure it's rare for them to save a baby that's born so early, especially if it came from an emergency surgery.

"Thank you doctor, how long will he have to stay?" I asked.

"That I am not sure about, but you will be released tomorrow. You and Mr. Taylor and any visitors of your choice are allowed to visit."

"Could we see him now?" Roger asked shakily.

The doctor nodded and went out of the room for a second. Everybody seemed to be in suspense, but when the doctor came back in with an incubator I started to cry again.

The baby was so incredibly small, smaller than I had ever seen before. Roger wrapped an arm around me and let me cry into his shoulder.

The doctor rolled it back out and came back in. He talked to us a bit more before letting us visit with our friends and family.
