Chapter 2

~First Day of School~

Artemis's POV:

I walked into the school nervously. Living in the forest for 9 years impacted my social skills a lot.

"Hey! Are you new here?" I turned to see a girl that was about 2 inches shorter than me.

She had fiery red hair and tan skin that went well with her sapphire eyes.

"Hi, I'm Brooklyn. You can call me Brooke. I can already tell that we are going to be the best of friends!" She said cheerfully.

"I'm Artemis. It's a pleasure meeting you" I said politely.

"You are so sweet! Is that a British accent I hear?"

"Yeah... I'm from England"

"What's it like there?"

"Why are you here?"

"How long have you lived there for?"

"Do you use perfume? Is it from England? You smell so good!"

"How are you in a class with all seniors?"

"I have to warn you, don't talk to Blake. He's a popular boy. He'll kill you if you approach him"

"Are you good at math?"

"Can you tutor me?"

"Are you rich? You must have gone to a private school in England. That's why you're so smart"

"Can I record you speaking? Your accent is so cute!"

"Wait... who's Blake?" I asked.

She froze before she sighed, "Blake is the most popular boy in school. He's rich, smart, handsome, dreamy af, and he practically controls everyone in this school. If you annoy him he can get the principal to get you suspended or even expelled!"

I frowned, "He sounds like a jerk"

Brooke gasped, "Do not let him hear you say that about him! He has eyes and ears everywhere!"

I opened my locker and took out my math binder.

"Whose stuff is that? I was here the whole day yesterday and nobody put anything in this locker. And these look like the really expensive binders that never even went on sale"

"Oh, the principal bought these for me..." I looked down at the binder I held.

"You're so lucky! These are so useful. There is a pencil case that is attached to it. There is also a folder on the front and back. Not only that but there's a pocket for your iPad, phone, or laptop!"

"Wow... why would the principal give this to me? I could've bought my own supplies..."

~ After School ~

"ARTEMIS~!"

I turned and saw Brooke running towards me. I shrieked and started to run away from her.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?! I'M NOT GONNA GIVE YOU THE BINDER!" I shouted.

"BUT I"M YOUR FRIEND~! FRIENDS SHARE!"

I hopped onto my skateboard and quickly left the school.

Blake's POV:

I looked over to where I heard shouting. I saw Brooke and a girl that stood at about 5'4. She had long dirty blonde hair that faded to a pale brown color but what I was interested about was her eyes. Her left eye was an emerald color and her right eye was a sapphire color but it changed to a white color. I wonder who she is...

"Who are you looking at?" My beta, Haru, asked.

"Who's that girl over there? The blonde"

"That's the new girl. You didn't see her since you were dealing with pack stuff. Her name is Artemis. She's really smart for a 15 year old." He explained.

I stared as she left, "There's something strange about her... Never mind... I'm going on a run to get my mind off things."

As I walked through the forest I smelled something. It was a weird smell but it was so... alluring. It smelled like citrus and rose. It's an odd combination but it smells so good. I followed the mysterious smell and saw a small kitten barely the size of my head. She had soft white fur and she seemed to be chasing a butterfly. I chuckled at the sight. I wonder what cats find so amusing about butterflies. When I looked back I spotted a girl with dirty blonde hair instead of the kitten.

"Artemis?" I called out.

She immediately stiffened before she jumped up and quickly ran away from me.

'Am I that scary?'

I sighed and walked out of the forest. I looked around and started the long walk home.

Artemis's POV:

I can't believe I almost got caught! I thought humans were into technology and their cellphones these days. Why would someone want to go through the woods. There could be wolves or foxes or bears! There was a howl in the distance then all you could hear was snarling. What is going on.....?

A large grey wolf popped out of nowhere. It was snarling at me with squinted ruby eyes. I gasped as I realized what this wolf was. This wolf was a werewolf. No any werewolf but a high ranked rouge wolf. I would probably say that it was a beta who got kicked out for abusing their power. It's usually the reason why high ranks are kicked out. Unless they lost their pack. When a wolf becomes rouge it's eyes turn red and they lose their sanity but that process takes about a week. This rouge must move been a lone wolf for about a month judging from the scars. I immediately backed away. I can't reveal who I am what if this werewolf knows who I am? Rouges are allowed at the school I go to. I could sense it. The school I went to was all werewolf. He lunged at me but I quickly dodged. I guess I can't just surrender. I'll have to fight back...
