In the 1800s, Kim Namjoon died a tragic death.
Namjoon was believed to be a witch in his small town of Ilsan and got burned at the stake because of his supposed witchcraft. It was mainly a few books about the topic, he was interested in, he wasn't even a believer in black or light magic anyway but the rumors spread that he did. He was also accused and insulted for murdering his wife, Luna.
Luna was abusive towards him. Mostly mental and emotional abuse, demeaning, humiliating and tormenting him almost every single day ever since they got married. They tried to have children a few months ago, twins, but they died a few hours later. The constant harassment against Namjoon and sometimes physical abuse against him while she was pregnant seemed to cause stress on her body and the children. Their deaths seemed to make her more angry at him and the abuse worsened from there - stemmed from the grief and the loss of their babies.
He couldn't take it anymore a few months later. Namjoon waited until it was early in the night, 3 am. Luna was fast asleep but he was still awake; he suffocated her with a pillow and while in tears, tried to gently calm down her screams while apologising for what he's doing. He prayed to any deity out there to save her soul and his before and after he did it.
He confessed his sins and as a result of that and the supposed rumors of witchcraft, he was burned at the stake.
These events turned him into a demon, forced to roam earth & the depths of hell for as long as time passed.
It wasn't so bad down there once he found a small group of friends, one of them being the devil, Kim Seokjin, who tried to be courteous with all those who defied God, as he was a man who was mainly curious but went against God's actions and as a result, plummeted to his demonic demise. Namjoon was actually a sweet man to all, even the other demons and angels he saw, he just went against one of the 10 commandments.
Park Jimin was a young man who died from pneumonia and smallpox during the era of the Black Plague, and as such became a angel as he was kind and bright to all those who befriended him. He always went to church and confessed to the local priest who was like a father to him.
However, as he roamed the cloudy nirvana known as heaven, he felt lonely - cold to most after his death and the initial hysteria and upset over his death. So he decides to roam earth, hunting down demons who harass humans or commit acts of wrongdoing that defy the beliefs and rules of God.
