remember my name - NAMGI

the great king, min agust, is a forceful tyrant that's brought many victories to the country and wants a painting of him in his best clothing commemorating his honour. his advisor finds this man who's known in the land for his realistic paintings.

the land is mostly filled with those who labour but has plentiful food, the best soil to produce luscious crops, and is known for it's dancing rituals that are dedicated to the emperor. namjoon is a local vendor who paints certain things in nature and sometimes does people, depending on the price.

his work was well known, even more, when he commissioned the artwork of a famous poet. however, when one of the local guards that comes under the rule of the emperor about having his painting done; his heart soars to his throat and he feels dizzy.

the palace is massive but the man sitting on the throne surpasses its size – his powerful aura shrouds him like mist and his face seems calm and collected, but the small glint in his eyes as namjoon bows lowly to show his respect towards him, it shows that he's interested.

namjoon, under the gaze of agust's most trusted advisor and the emperor of korea himself, is shaky while he does his painting of agust – sitting in a chair that looks like it could give namjoon food and fabric for weeks; his black gonryongpo and earrings shining in gold embellishments, long blonde hair cascading down his back and some in a ponytail, a thick brown book in his hand. namjoon nervously consults the advisor with a stunted stutter a few hours later, that he's sketched out the outline but the painting might take a few days to fully bring out the emperor's likeness.

the king seemed a bit annoyed but was accepting of the circumstances and tells namjoon to take rest in the servants' outhouse so that he can stay and finish the painting. namjoon was a bit hesitant at first but was quick to remember who exactly told him so he complies easily; unless you were an elder, a relative of the emperor or his group of counsels, you'd be a dead man to try and confront him.

the few days that he was there, agust has some interesting conversations with namjoon. namjoon's soft voice answering as he paints, his eyes strictly on the painting and looking down at the ground otherwise; soothing and smooth like honey.

agust is quick to become more and more interested in the tall, soft-spoken painter. the man manages to hold his own in conversations, gently speaking to him when permitted to while he tries to finish his painting in a variety of colours; black, navy, gold, cream and so on.
