If you have never heard of a Magic System, then I suggest you look it up. They're actually pretty important when it comes to story building, especially fantasy and ci-fi stories. But the chances are that, like me, you already started making a magic system without even realizing it. A Magic System is basically the rules and guidelines you set for the magic in your story. The two big magic systems are Soft Magic, and Hard Magic. I would explain, but I literally just learned these terms not too long ago from a YouTube video, which I'll link at the bottom of this page so you can watch it if you want.
But as the title of this page suggests, this is MY Magic System, so I'll only be talking about the one I made up myself. And as you and I might find out as this page progresses, is that this is basically just a bunch of other magic systems smudged together but makes sense somehow.
If you have read "Hazel" then you pretty much have been given the foundation of this system of magic. I try to instead of explain it all in one book however, spread the knowledge over a span of multiple books. So the books like "More Than Math," "'Incident,'" "Happy Papy," and a few others also help explain how this "magic" works. And that is where I get to the first part.
1. My Magic System is not magic.
It is instead what I call, powers, or, energy. All of which have a source. My thing is that if there is an energy, there has to be a source. The thing though, is that there are many different sources of energy in my universe. Many different power sets. And many different ways it is seen through it's wielder.2. The many different sources.
First off we have our most notable and explored source of energy, The Gem Star. This is in fact, in a way, the energy that the other energies branch off of. Understanding this gem and how it works would really help understanding how the people who use it's power work, like Herobrine.3. The Gem Star.
Anyone get confused between the Gem Star in Minecraft and the one not in Minecraft? Well here, I'll make it easier for you. They are not the same. Just like the world, the Minecraft Gem Star was created by the programmers. The ones who started A.I.S.A.S.
The one that is the source of all these energies is actually something I made YEARS ago, when Magnolvia was just a fun world my mind would go to. So I guess I made it up when I was about eight or nine, maybe ten. I found a really old drawing of it from when I was like in third grade, so the idea's pretty old. But little did I know back then that the idea would actually grow into what it is now. Well what was it back then?
Back then it was the powerful gem in the center of The City of Gold, which kept the air bubble around Magnolvia up, protecting the life on the island. And in a way, it still is that today. In one universe at least. Yes, since there are multiple universes in my story, I took the liberties of having multiple Gem Stars as well. Each powerful has a different story as well, which pretty much defines the difference between universes. I would probably talk more about this, but I am already pretty far off track. The Gem Star is pretty much the center of so many things that is hard to talk about it without mentioning like every single book and all their spoilers.
So yeah, just know that the Gem Star exists in every universe, and is EXTREMELY powerful, with the power to control reality itself.4. Transferring Energy.
How does the Gem Star release it's power in the first place? The most raw method would be an explosion. Several Gem Stars exploded all at once across several universe, the source unknown, causing the slow creation of Herobrine. In another universe the Gem Star explodes years after the others, causing the events in, "'Incident.'"
When the energy is not contained inside a shell such as the gem, it looks for the closest thing. For the Gem Star, humans are excellent at storing and maneuvering energy. Their minds use light to get information from one place to another, and their souls are strong. And their regenerative proporties hold the abilities to regenerate the power as well. This is why instead of just another item, the energy from the Gem Star will always prefer a human. The only problem is that with so much energy flowing through the corrupted species, they can't control it all at once for very long.
So this brings up the second way to transfer energy, which only a living being with a mind can accomplish, because rocks don't have minds of their own. This next one is more of a by-will-transfer, which should hopefully not be hard to explain. Basically whoever holds the power is able to choose where it goes to next. If it is by will, then the power will go easily from one place to another. For this by to be accomplished the source and the one the source wants to move it's power to has to be within close proximity to one another.
A little something for example: Your friend has powers, but he/she wants you to have powers too. If you two are standing close to eachother, and he/she full willingly let's you have some of his/her power, then it'll happen. As long as he/she full heartedly wants it. This is why one can not force a source to give them powers. It has to be done by will. However, this does not mean it is impossible to extract energy from these sources. It is actually quite common.5. Energy Extracting.
This is the part that can either be complicated or simple depending on how you think of it. And I don't really want to spoil anything but might have to just to explain this properly. There is a group, a multiverse group, which exists in all but also neither universes, which has figured out how to do this. The technology is extremely complicated however just to achieve it. This group, the I.S.S. has been controlling their entire spaceship with it. The Gem Star they captured controls a black hole, which keeps their massive battle ship in one piece, as well as takes them from one universe to another, and even time travel.
The classified techniques used to control the Gem Star is unknown, but ####### happened to figure it out. Eventually when he was making the Corrupt Herobrine, (explanation for that another time), his knowledge of how went into it as well. So there are only two to three who know this secret: the I.S.S, #######, and the Corrupt Herobrine.
And while the I.S.S. just uses this method for one gem, and ####### doesn't use it at all, the Corrupt Herobrine basically made it his thing to steal the energies of those more powerful than him to get what he wants.
I really don't want to spoil this, but look at the end of "Hazel" a little closer. Look at where it fits on the timeline please. It takes place before most of the other ones TCH (The Corrupt Herobrine) makes an appearance in. And if you notice, in "Hazel," that other character with glowing white eyes has no exact form. And what exactly is his target? Those stronger than him, like Hazel and The Original Herobrine. This form fails to get Hazel, but you can't say the same about the now good-ish, Herobrine. Now look where he next appears. He has a form, sort of, but it is limited and can only exist in certain areas like the mind. I think through these books very carefully, so if you look close enough it hopefully shouldn't be hard to find connections. Basically, between those two books TCH started his "Energy Farm." This is where the catch to extracting energy comes in.
The energy sources only leave the main source, the person, if the will allows it. (Unless literally torn from them, which takes A LOT of energy on the other end, but has been done) So while energy might be drained, the sources that re create the energy do not. So one can not simply take all the energy from the source and expect to keep that power for long. Eventually it will fizzle out, and the stealer will have to take even more.
I would say that this idea, looking back, mainly came from a show I had seen only the first three episodes of years ago, and just recently watched the rest of. But those first three episodes were the only ones I needed to start the idea of all this. And as I watched the show I realized how similar my own story expanded off the first three episodes, had come into comparison with even the last few episodes. For a bit I wondered if maybe I had skipped to the end of the series or something. But I know I hadn't, my idea just so happened to grow very similarly to that of the show. "Max Steel"
So yeah, TCH constantly has to extract power from The Original Herobrine 3 to light a portal as well as power other tasks otherwise impossible with his limits. This is also why he goes after Richard in "More Than Math." His dad already knows about him and could easily shoo him away, however Richard doesn't know about him nor his goals. And that is what can be really scary.6. Other Energy Sources.
There is really only one true separate energy source, because most of the other energies originate from the Gem Star's energy. However there is some variation which acts and looks differently. I may as well put them in a list or something. From most powerful to least powerful.. The Gem Star - raw energy; most commonly wielded by Herobrine - already explained it above - a strong white fog glow (TGS)
. Imagination To Reality - the energy TCH most widely uses - power of the turned real imagination - dark purple static fog mix, when compressed can look like a little dark void (ITR)
. The special 303 "formula" - first by and most commonly used by Entity303 - a mixture of ITR and TGS - sporadic red particles, mixture makes it look and act unstable (303F)
. Creators' Power - most commonly and only used by The Entities - strongest in game, mostly just coding, but has a hint of TGS and ITR, added by 303, so they stand a chance in the real world - red magma looking energy
. Mystic energy - there is only one wielder for this energy throughout the whole story - rare and almost impossible to detect - not very powerful overall, only so the source can keep track of the other sources across the multiverse - pale blue floating water droplets look
By the way, all the explanations stating how they look is only visible if someone has a special energy viewing thing on. Go to "More Than Math," where I pretty much made this up as I was writing it :>
If I have anything more to say about this topic, then I will, but right now I really just feel like animating. So seeya!
