Chapter V: Always

My alarm went off. I groaned, trying to get enough energy to turn it off, but somebody beat me to it. What? My eyes shot open. It took me a while to adjust myself to the darkness of my room, I was definitely in my room, I was on my bed and under the covers, but how? I tried to move but something was holding me back. An arm… an arm around my waist. The person behind me started moving; I froze and pretended to be asleep. I don’t need to panic, right? It could be my mom… maybe she was feeling cold, or maybe she was having nightmares…

A tall and lean figure stood beside me, he stretched and yawned. Then he flicked the lamp on, I prayed to god he wouldn’t realize I was awake. He gently shook my arm until I reluctantly opened my eyes.

“Get up. School” said Damon. Not really a morning person right?

“Mhhmm, another five minutes please” I tried to cover my head with the pillow but it flew away from my hands.

“Come on sleeping beauty, if you don’t get up right now, I’m going back in” He threatened chuckling.

“Fine. I’m up” I said, not moving one inch. “Why so pushy?”

“Your bed is really tempting, especially with you in it, so don’t try me” He answered. A blush crept up my face, what was he doing?

“Okay, get out, I need a shower” I said. I’m not much of a morning person myself so bear with it.

“You have twenty minutes, if you’re not ready I’ll come back” I waved my hand dismissively, “I’m serious Nick, I don’t care if you’re completely naked in the shower” He added.

“Not happening Ferran”

“Ok, twenty minutes then” with that hefinallyleft.

I got up quickly, grabbed some undergarments and made my way to the bathroom; I don’t want to push my luck. I took a quick shower, got dressed in skinny jeans and a black long sleeved shirt with the inscriptions “I see DUMB people”along with my vans. Just when I finished putting my hair up in a ponytail Damon came in shirtless, holding two t-shirts.

“Should I wear the one that says“BORN on my birthday”or the one that says“ENOUGH SAID, we are all talking shit”… Nick, your brother is one strange dude” He finally looked at me, “I guess is a family thing then” he added chuckling. I rolled my eyes.

“Let’s not risk it, wear theBORN on my birthdayone” I answered. “Now let’s go have breakfast, I don’t want to be late for school” We started descending the stairs, “Actually, we should skip breakfast and head to school right now so nobody sees me coming out of your car” I added.

“Ouch, you’re hurting my feelings Nick. After the night we spent together… I thought we had something special” he said in mocked hurt.

“About that, not one word, to anybody, got it?”

“Guess you’re one of those “use them and lose them” girl” he said.

“No, but we’re not even friends, and sleeping together was an accident” I responded. He stayed silent with a look of hurt. “Oh c’mon, don’t give that look, you seriously can’t be expecting us to be friends again over night” I was just being logic.

“No, but you wanting to ignore me again doesn’t sound good” He answered truthfully.

“Fine, we can talk like civilize people, but that’s it for now” I was wracking my brain for any ideas; I didn’t want to talk to him at school where everybody would be nosy about it. Actually, I still didn’t want to talk to him at all. Sure, we shared some “nice” moments last night, but I was nowhere near ready to embrace a relationship of any kind with the guy.
