Ever since the day that Adam and James decided to take a break, they've been hanging out just as friends. Despite their undying love for each other, they've been able to stay contained. But their time spent with each other just made them grow more hungry for each other, hungry for each kiss, each hug, every night they spent together. James basically couldn't take it, but he knew he had to stay contained. He wanted Adam, but he had to reinstate trust in him, and being friends -no matter how much it killed both of them- was the only way. James sat on the couch and thought about Adam. They agreed to hang out again today at his apartment. He bit his lip in anticipation and waiting for the calming knock knock knock. James checked the clock again, what was taking him so long? He lives just across the street. He groaned as he stood up. He checked his phone case, it was looking a bit plain. He ran to the washroom to grab red, blue, and black nail polish, with a clear base coat. He ripped of his phone case, prying and biting it with his teeth to get the stubborn fit to loosen and wiggle off of his phone. He ripped a piece of paper towel from the roll inside of his cupboard underneath the sink, and placed his phone case onto it. James searches for a disposable plate and finally found one hiding underneath his fridge. He poured the selected colours and made a spectrum from combining and poring a few different ones on and equipped a paint brush into his hand as he direly painted the shape of a slushy onto his already abstract phone case. He bit the back of the paintbrush before making one last stroke and finally completing the phone case. And that's when, at the worst possible time, he heard the knock at the door.
Finally. he thought. He dropped the paint brush.
"I'll be there in a minute!" James scrubbed his hands vigorously. He wipes a towel off the counter and dries his hands as he runs to the door. He struggles to turn the cool metal open with his moist hands. He finally turns the handle and jolts up and smiles at the smiling man displayed in front of him. James continues to dry his hands as he invites Adam into the now messy home.
"I see I caught you in the middle of... this?" Adam noticed the nail polishes and the make-shift colour pallet on the table. James giggles.
"Yeah. I was painting my phone case."
"With nail polish?" Adam looked concerned.
"Hey, don't drop it till you try it." Adam laughed. James smiled as he cleaned up the mess.
"So what do you want to do today?" Adam asked as he scrolled through James small apartment. James approached him after finishing his cleaning. James shrugged and suggested some wii. Adam laughed.
"Of course you have a wii. Your so old school." Adam laughed more. James smiled along and tossed him a controller. James heard the satisfying flaring of the wii turning on and then selected super Mario bros. He cozied into the couch and Adam followed suit, right next to James on the couch. The habit of wrapping his arms around James and laying him on top of himself and kissing his forehead lingered, but he resisted the urge and just gave a knowing smile to James, who still hadn't shaken the habit of letting Adam lay him down on his comfy chest. They both shook the thought out of their heads, and continued to play Mario. James was Mario and Adam was Luigi. After about 3 hours of Mario -even though it felt like 5 minutes- they decided to give up on world 5 and make some supper.
"You must really like beef." Adam called out from the fridge as James got a pan ready to cook some ground beef.
"Well it's the least expensive meat right now." He slid past Adam and grabbed a package of ground beef and opened it, it immediately dropped onto the pan, all in one frozen piece. Adam resisted the urge to wrap his arms around James' waist and rock him back and forth as they sang a melody together, but he couldn't. As for James, he wanted to start the music and just sing as loudly and freely as he can. But it didn't work like that anymore.

Adam and James just finished cleaning up supper and were deciding what to do. They were cracking jokes and laughing until they stopped and gazed at each other.
"Adam.. I-" James was caught off by Adam grabbing him and kissing him. Their kiss lasted a good few seconds beefier they detached. "Uh.. Umm." James hummed.
"Uh.. I think I'm just gonna.." Adam grabbed his phone and stuck it into his pocket. "I'm just gonna go now." Adam mumbled before heading to the door.
"Bye!" James yelled after him. Adam waved before swiftly closing the door. "Love you..." James whispered after he left. He brushed two fingers in his lips, kissing Adams lips being bestowed upon them.
"I've been awake for awhile now.." James sang.
"You got me feeling like a child now." He hummed the soft tune. "Cause every time I see your bubbly face, I get the tingles in a funny place." He approached the door and later, his head against the cool wood.
"It starts in my toes, then I crinkly my nose." Adam sang outside the door. He payed with the same position, he was against the door and his knees curled up to his chin.
"Wherever it goes I always know." James sang.
"That you smile, please stay for awhile now." Adam sang.
"Just take your time wherever you go.." they sang. Adam wiped his eyes before getting up. His fist hovered at the door before he heard a click of the door opening, revealing James, standing on the other side. Tears reared his eyes.
"Adam.." James trailed off. Adam lunged forward and hugged him. James cried into Adams shirt, resting his head on his chest. "I missed you so much." James cried. Adam walked him into the house and closed the door behind him. He payed James on the couch. James looked up at him with glistening eyes.
"Sleepover?" Adam asked. James nodded. Adam grabbed the remote and turned on a romantic movie as James curled up like a little puppy on Adams stomach and chest. They laid like that until they fell asleep. Adams arms were wrapped around James, who was sprawled out on top of Adam and had cheeks stained with tears and smiling brightly as he cuddled Adam. It felt like old times but different... it felt almost like.. new.
-------------------------
Adam groaned as he felt something squirm on top of him. He giggled as his eyes fluttered open at a small James shifting on top of him.
"Morning Jameson." Adam chuckles at James reaction. "What? Don't like the new name?" Adam asked. James was.. confused for the most part. He was tired and didn't remember what happened last night.
"No.. it's fine.. it's just.." James gulped out that much before Adam added.
"You wondering if we're together again?" James nodded. Adam expresses his opinion on the whole situation and said he thought they were. But James didn't know. When he got silence from the other boy, he made an assumption. "It's nice to have my boyfriend back." This got James' attention. Adam smiled and kissed him. James soaked into Adams embrace.
"I better make us some breakfast." Adam groaned getting up.
"Nooooooo! Don't leave meeeee!" James groaned, refusing to let go of Adam. Adam just payed back down.
"Ok fine, ten more minutes." James smiled and muddled into Adams chest and Adam kissed the top of his head. Everything was just... perfect
