"minho, honey, are you ready?" minho's mom called out for him from downstairs, as he was still putting on his pants, struggling to do it while jumping on one foot.

"y-yeah, mom, i'm almost done!" he shouted back, quickly fixing his dark hair and putting on his coat.

he then headed to his mom who was waiting for him by the front door. they wore their shoes and picked up their baskets.

that day, minho was going to help his mom with some work. they were going to the textile market where she had her business and he would help her with the selling of fabrics.

he wasn't really annoyed since he actually liked going to the market, the most typical part of his town.

it didn't take them long to reach it by bus, minho helping his mother getting off the bus and guiding her through the crowd of people that populated the market at that hour of the day.

they soon reached their stall and settled their bags and packages.

"minho, honey, could you help me with opening this?" his mom asked, pulling a thick roll of maroon fabric from one of the bags. they slowly unfolded it a bit and placed it on the closest table.

"mom, do you want me to set the other rolls and order them?" he kindly asked, already pulling another roll of soft fabric from a large bag resting on the wooden floor.

"well..." his mom gave a look around, "let's do it like this. i'll finish setting up the fabrics and you please do me a favour."

minho nodded, listening up to his mother's order.

"i want you to go and find your aunt's stall. it seems like i have forgotten my tools at home... and i really need scissors here," she sighed and chuckled, mentally cursing herself for being so forgetful.

"no problem, mom. i'll do it right away and be back here in a second," he reassured her, giving her a light pat on the shoulder. she kindly smiled at him and nodded.

minho rushed away and almost ran through the different stalls of the market in search of his mother's sister's face. he wanted to be quick since he never liked leaving his mom alone in a place like the market.

he knew his mom had been working there for a long time, even before he was born, but ever since he was little—around eight or ten—he realised people at the market weren't always kind and honest old ladies, so he felt the need to protect his mother from any danger he could avoid.

he was so lost in his thoughts, he almost didn't notice the person he was looking for. it was in fact his name being called multiple times that made him turn around.

"minho!" his head snapped in the direction of the voice, immediately eyeing a short haired lady in her sixties.

"aunt eunji!" he walked up to her stall and around the counter, and was soon held by two strong yet comforting arms. he hugged her back and was very pleased to see her again.
