felix groaned in discomfort as he watched his ball bounce towards his neighbours' frontyard for the umpteenth time.

he shook his head and walked to the front of the house, trying to be as quick as possible so other people wouldn't wonder what he was doing in someone else's property.

he tiptoed up the steps of the porch-where the ball had landed-and bent down to pick it up.

as he was about to walk back to his house, he heard a firm voice that made him stop in his track.

"hey!"

his ears reddened in embarrassment as he turned around, ready to apologise.

"what are- felix?"

felix himself raised his head when he heard his name being called.

"oh, seungmin, it's just you!" felix sighed, bringing his free hand over his heart as he took deep breaths.

"yeah... this is my house," he chuckled, as he walked towards the door, unlocking it.

"i was just picking up my ball without looking like a burglar but you suddenly appeared and- damn, you scared me," felix stammered while speaking in english.

"sorry, buddy," seungmin laughed, turning to see the other boy lightly kicking the ball from one foot to another.

"wanna come in?" the younger asked. they had been seeing each other a few times in their frontyards, where they laid on the grass for hours just talking, laughing and simply getting to know each other.

yet, they had never visited each other's house and felix had to admit he was pretty curious. so he nodded and followed the other inside.

his mouth fell agape when he looked around himself in awe. seungmin's house was astonishing. it literally screamed the boy was rich from every piece of furniture or statue laying on different shelves.

the walls were elegantly decorated by soft coloured wallpaper and paintings were littered all around the house.

"felix?"

said boy shook his head to get back to reality and looked at seungmin.

"stop drooling over how beautiful you think my house is and come here," he just laughed.

felix could have never imagined seungmin was this rich. he was always so humble and down-to-earth and he was willing to also speak english with him to make him feel more at ease.

as both boys stepped into the fascinating kitchen painted in delicate shades of yellow, he basically felt like a poor peasant, walking there with his casual clothes a bit ruined from being used too much.

"would you like anything to eat?" the younger asked, opening the fridge and pulling out some cake his mother had prepared.

"my parents are at work so i guess we can enjoy a bit of cake by ourselves," he winked at felix who laughed along, following seungmin with his eyes as the latter cut two slices of cake, placing them on white plates.

"how about we eat this outside?" seungmin suggested.

"yeah, that sounds good," the australian agreed. so they went back outside and found a nice little spot on the grass with some shadow coming from the high tree the stood next to them.

they were immersed in their conversations as each of them finished eating their piece of cake.

"you know, i sing in a choir," seungmin blurted out.

felix let our a surprised noise, "oh really? wow..."

the other smiled, "yeah, singing... it's my passion," he admitted, cheeks reddening a bit as he opened to felix a bit more about himself, the latter listening intently.
