MAVIS.

He never found me.

I knew he wouldn't, but I secretly hoped he would.

It had always been a bad but funny habit of his. He never looked right behind him or in any obvious place when he lost something.

Like that time he lost his pencil as a six year old. It turned out to be "hidden" atop his left ear. Or the time he misplaced his only golden key - which was later found in the same cupboard behind the glass cup it should have always been in.

Those turned out to be more minor situations. I selfishly hope he didn't ever think of what happened to me as one of those.

"Zeref! I found something, and I think you might want to hear this." Lucy. I recognized my little sister-in-law's voice so clearly I could tell if anyone tried to magically imitate it.

Zeref ran towards the main planning hall, me hastily being forced to run behind, unable to speak, blink, or just move unless he did.

"What is it, Lucy?"

"She's right behind you."
