it's actually Ben's fault

A/N Guys did ya all saw Josh' insta!! There is gonna be a newsies reunion November the 4th!!!!

I wake up the next morning, feeling Ben's arms around my waist. "Morning kitten." He mumbles. "Hm, morning Cook."

He softly took my hand and placed a small kiss on the ring. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and chuckled. "You're being cheesy again."

Ben laughed, sitting straight up a little bit more. "What? Can't a man love his wife." I pushed him out of the bed and looked over the edge as I heard him groan. "We're not even married Benjamin." I tell the boy before getting up and changing into regular clothes.

Eventually it was christmas eve. I was jumping up and down from excitement as we walked trought the airport. "Wow, you need to slow down there." I heard Ben say behind me.

"Nope, not gonna happen! We're in Virginia! Your home country!" I yelled out of excitement. As I put on my jacket I heard somebody call out our names.

I turned around a d saw Emma waving us over to her. I squealed, letting go of my suitcase as I ran over to her.

"It's so good to see you again!" I beam, Emma laughed, pulling me in a hug. "Good to see tou too, why so happy?"

"Well, tonight I'm gonna go back to NY, seeing Jack, my family and my friends. And at the moment I'm gonna spend christmas eve with you guys!"

"You did brought presents right? Or else you're not allowed in the Cook household." I laughed, pointing at Ben who was currently trying to walk over to us with his, and mine suitcase.

"Everything is in my suitcase." I said. Ben stopped next to us and huffed. "What are you carrying with you?" He asks, giving me my suitcase back. "Presents, a few clothes and a dog." Ben's eyes grow big as he leans into me.

"You snuck Jack with you all this time?" He asks in disbelief. "What? No! I was sarcastic." I say, laughing a little bit. "So Jack is not in the suitcase?" He asks slowly. "Nope, looks like you have to wait a few more hours before you see him." He pouts and I laugh as Emma finally pulls her brother in a hug.

"Oh! I totally forgot!" She suddenly says, letting go of Ben and turning towards me. "Show me the ring!" I chuckle as I hold my hand out for her.

"Hm, it's beautiful!" She turns back to Ben and smirks. "You better got me something like that for christmas!"

I give them a moment and grab my phone out of my pocket the moment it goes off. I excuse myself from the twins, grab my suitcase and walk a few meters away from them.

"Hey dad!" I say. "Hey Liz, savely on the ground again?"

"Hep, we just met up with Emma. Her and Ben are currently talking by." I say into the phone. "But why did you call?" I ask. "Just wanted to know you're still alive." I smile, sitting down on my suitcase.

"Yep, alive and really happy."

"Glad to hear that, any idea how late you two are here tonight?" I think for a second, scanning the flight tickets in my head. "Probably around 3 AM, so please just go to bed, we'll see you in the morning."

"No promises." I laugh, seeing Ben and Emma walking towards me. "I should go, love you." I say before ending the call.

"Ready to go?" They ask in unison. "Absolutely." We walk outside and get a cab towards their house. Not even 30 minutes later we arrive.

I step out of the cab and get my stuff, suddenly feeling extremely anxious. "You 'lright?" Ben asks as he also grabs his stuff. "Y-yeah, I'm fine." I say as someone opens the front door.

"Ben! Lizzy!" I hear Ms. Cook say before we both get engulfed into a hug. "Good to see you too Ms. Cook." I say to the woman as she let's go of us.

"I told you, call me Jill. Did you have a good flight?" She asks as she takes my suitcase from me. "Oh! Please be cafeful, it can break. And yes, it was a great flight." I say with a smile.

As we walk into the living room I see two more people I haven't met yet sitting on the coutch. The girl stands up and walks towards me, the boy following suit.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Kate, Ben's older sister."

"And I'm Nick, his older half brother." The guys says. "I-I didn't, I didn't knew he had an o-older brother a-and sister. I'm, I'm s-so sorry. I'm Lizzy by the w-way." I stutter as I shake their hands.

Both Kate and Nick turn towards Ben in unison. "You didn't told her about us?" Kate asks. "Heh, well.. I didn't think I had to?" Ben slowly says while scratching his head.

"Oh! I haven't brought any presents for you two!" I suddenly blurt out. Nick laughs, placing a hand on my shoulder to try and calm me down. "It's alright, it's actually Ben's fault, not yours."

I laugh as I look over at Ben, who is currently stumbling over his words. "Do you want something to drink?" Emma asks, already making her way towards the kitchen. "Yes, just a water please. And is it okay if I go change into something more- appropriate?" I ask.

"Ofcourse! Ben show her your room will you! And get your stuff out of the hallway!" Jill says, following Emma.

"Yes mom!" Ben yells after her. I chuckle, already knowing this is gonna be a good holiday.
