To Alice’s surprise he was ok. He opened his eyes to find himself standing in the middle of a dimly lit room. It was a circler brown and crumbling dirt hall lined with doors, and curtains above each door. The floor appeared to be a chess board, only instead of black and white it was black and red.
As Alice began to take it all in he saw a white rabbit run by. He was an odd looking rabbit, and he kept murmuring to himself the same thing again and again. “Oh dear, oh dear, I’m very late, vary late.” As the flustered rabbit ran past Alice he began to shrink. “Wait!” shouted Alice, “Where am I?” Alice had failed to get the rabbits attention, as he hastily ran through a small door in the wall that Alice had no seen before.
Alice tried to follow after the rabbit but the door was too small, and he could only get his hand to fit through it “Damn” Alice muttered to his self. He tried the other doors but they were locked as well. “Damn! If only I could shrink.” He thought to himself.
Just as he said this Alice looked down to see a table in the middle of the room he had not seen before. It was made of glass and had a light almost purple pastel glint to it. Upon the table sat a small glass bottle labeled drink me and small gold key.
Alice picked up the bottle and the key hesitantly. He took the little cork at the top of the bottle out. Inside was a bright blue liquid. He swirled the blue liquid in the bottle causing a bout of sparkles to fly out. Alice was hesitant to drink it, in case it was poison. However Alice thought to himself,” Well, if it’s poison, I’ll die. There’s also no way out of here but that door and I have no food, so matter what, I’d die, and I don’t think I could possibly scale those walls.” Alice glared at the bottle and took his chances, hastily gulping down the blue bottle.
Alice felt an odd sensation as the world around him began to grow, or rather, as he began to shrink. In his surprise he dropped the back onto the table. As he grew smaller he began to fear he might just disappear altogether. Alice began to panic for fear of this but his worries were soon dismissed when he suddenly stopped growing, only to find himself three inches tall. Now Alice was small enough to fit through thee small door the rabbit had gone through. Alice ran over to the door excitedly and tried to open it, but to his disappointment, it was locked. “Damn rabbit, must have of locked it.” He said, remembering the small key he had left on the table. Alice’s heart felt heavy.
“I’ve been here only a few minutes and already I’m making a fool of myself.”Alice scolded himself. Alice tried to reach the key but he was too small, having foolishly drank the liquid with in the bottle so hastily. ”Oh dear, the way I’ll ever reach that key is if I were to grow back to my original size.” Alice began to pout. “How will I ever grow?” he thought to himself. No sooner had he pondered that question when he spotted a small, colorful cake by one of the legs of the table. Alice picked up the odd looking cake and looked at the little tag on the small silver tray. “Eat me.”
“What a queer looking cake.” said Alice as he examined the brightly colored cake. “Is this even a real cake?” Alice hesitantly took a bite of the cake and gasped. Alice could not believe what he tasted. It was the most delicious cake he’d ever taken a bite of. “This tastes like strawberry tarts, raspberry pie, cherries, sweet bread, chicken and chocolate all at the same time!” exclaimed Alice. He was so busy being lost in its flavor that he didn’t realize that he’s begun to grow.
