Sure, Laura had told Ross that it would have been "Awesome" to attend his first blind date with a girl that got him feeling so nervous, but that wasn't the truth. It wasn't awesome, actually; Laura was dreading Saturday and worst of all, the only thing that was on her mind was Ross' somewhat strong feeling for a girl he probably had never met.
***

Saturday arrived faster than Ross had counted on. He was supposed to be happy about his date with Hope, but Hope was just an excuse for dealing with his own feelings. He began getting ready for his date with a feeling of apprehension in his stomach.

Now, Ross had realized how pathetic he must have been asking Laura and her soon to be boyfriend to go on his date with him; nothing would have compared to the embarrassment he was feeling. He doesn't even have an interest in Hope in the first place, Ross realized the more he thought over his decisions. He was counting on Hope to help him "move on".

Ross was just kidding himself! He had invited Laura and Jack, the burden, he thought, along on his date with Rydel's friend, Hope, because he still loved Laura. Even though he had forced himself to move on, he couldn't bare going on a date with anyone else; thus, inviting Laura. Ross was blindly lying to himself.

But as much as he knew it, deep inside his mind, he wouldn't give it up; he wouldn't admit it out loud, even though he already admitted the truth to himself. He was supposed to be moving on. But, this was like a facade to him and the others around him; as if trying to prove "Hey look, I've moved on," though really still allowing himself to want to be romantically involved with Laura.

Anyone, Rocky and Riker, even his little brother Ryland could command him to get over Laura, but nobody could change the way he felt.
Jokes on them; and on himself too.

As Ross got ready, so did Laura. She held up two different outfits and studied them in the mirror of her bedroom. As she held the outfits over her body and studied them in the mirror, a brief knock interrupted her. Her cousin Ariana waltzed into Laura's room.

"So... I heard you were going on a date." Ariana brought up. Not my date; someone else's date which I apparently have to attend, Laura thought to herself. Laura forced a smile at Ariana's reflection in the mirror. "Yeah. With Jack and Ross and a girl he met."

"Oh, Ross has a girlfriend? Who is she?" Ariana asked with a suspicious urge in her tone while she tried to look nonchalant by twirling her blonde hair around on her freshly painted mint green pointer finger.

"She's not his girlfriend." Laura snapped. "He just met her." Laura replied with a calmer tone. "Oh okay." Ariana said, a little taken aback from Laura's previous response.

"If he just met her, why are they going out?"

"I don't know, Ariana. " Laura said, losing her patience.

Laura found it strange and a little bit annoying how Ariana was always obsessing over whatever Ross was doing.

"Which outfit should I wear?" Laura asked, deciding to change the subject.
Ariana chose the pretty white long sleeved blouse, with thick laced stripes, and a matching white lace pencil skirt. Laura chose black ankle boots to complete her look.

And after she picked out her outfit of choice Ariana was kind enough to help help her with her hair and make up.

As Ariana worked on Laura's hair she couldn't help but bring up Ross' date, yet again. "So... Ross invited you to go out on a date with his date. I wonder why?." Ariana said with obvious sarcasm and curled some of Laura's hair. "Yes, that's right." Laura sighed in exasperation, though Ariana didn't seem to notice her irritation .
