Dig, dig, dig them up
Beets and radishes
Carrots and ginger
Fill the wheelbarrow
With rooted beauties
But we must save room
For the gloried ones
The Yukon Gold spuds
Dig, dig, dig them up
Cart the beauties back
To the great farmhouse,
Set some aside to
Sell in the market,
Keep the little ones
Scrub them 'til they shine
So they taste divine
Cook, cook, cook them up
A good stew for you
Grind the ginger for
Your tonics and tea
Roast the radishes
Boil, juice the beets
So many good eats
Cook, cook, cook them up
Give them to your kin
Let them lick their plates
And go to sleep full,
And you keep working
Washing grubby plates
And go to sleep late
Cart, cart, cart them off
To the market with
Your Yukon Gold spuds
Trade for milk and eggs
And other nice goods
Sell the rest for gold
Get home quick, you're told
