CHAPTER 2 - OPHIUCHUS IS NO MORE

Waking up at 3:30 AM was already hard enough. Waking up knowing the camping trip is in a few hours is even harder. Well, if you combine them both, you have one large sleepyhead with shiny green eyes with a dimple to the side of his mouth; Welcome to my world.

I knew I couldn't fake sleeping, my mother would slap me in the face, again. (This happened more times than me hitting Mikey in the eyes using my dangerous weapon; My elbow) After the unfortunate events of my family and partly being stuck with my mother, I lost my appetite, but today I tried my hardest to finish my food. Maybe if I could do that, then maybe I could use that as leverage to convince my mother to just not attend again.

So when eating breakfast, I talked about the Lynn and Travis fight, exaggerating it a lot, I told her that Travis almost died. I was almost going to finish my food and then my mother asks me "Do you still want to be in Xilos?"

I hesitated at first, but then I had an amazing opportunity to plead my case. "My classmates are terrible, I dont want to be with the campers"

Then she told me that she would allow me to not join agai- oh of course she didn't. She wanted me to make friends and connect with others. What if I left the house? I thought, but I didn't say it.

"Winter Break is coming soon, you know what?"
"No I dont" I sarcastically answered
"Leo!"
"Sorry"
"Im going to put you in Loktus next year. Maybe then you'll connect with others."
"But mom-"
"Quiet, son. Dont be a traitor like the rest of our family."
"Ok mom" Then I packed my bags and then left early

Not gonna lie, I was pretty pissed off, my plan completely backfired. I wouldn't be able to see my friends again, we would only be together for two more months.. What pissed me off more is what they called my brother and father. "Traitors?!" I said out loud. I wanted to punch my mother so bad. Not to mention it was 5:00 AM, an hour early. I racked my brain for any way to escape. I couldn't.

Usually there would be some kind of light at around 5, but today it was different. There was no light. Only light from my phone, which was 5%, so it wasn't going to last long. I took a stick from the nearby tree as a remembrance, I felt like I was going to leave soon. No clue why. Then the sky went dark, unexpectedly. I yelled in fear "HELLLPPP!"

"Lee-oo!" a familiar voice said "You out early?"

I turn around and I felt like I was hallucinating. Im backing away from what seemed to be a shadow of white. When my eyes focused.. It was two shadows.. I saw what seemed to be a boy with an orange/brownish eye, but I didn't see the other eye. The other person had what seemed to be diamond shaped glasses..

Whoever that person was.. His/her hair was awesome. 10/10 I wanted to say, but I couldn't.. My voice was holding me back.. My body was spiralling out of control. My balance was long gone. I was about to faint, but he stopped.

"Who.. who are.. who are you?" I demanded, though my voice was fading
"Oh yeah. Your nyctophobia is driving you crazy" Another voice said, whoever the other person was, she was definitely a girl. She had a really high voice, and I blushed a little, but I couldn't care about love right now. I was about to lose control.
"I'll go now, Ben, you can go ahead with whatever you want to do with Leo" the girl continued
"Straight. To.. the point.. please... Ben.. Im about to..-"I said, I was rushing this.. Then I fainted.

I had a dream.. or nightmare rather.. My control still wasn't back. I felt like I was still being controlled by someone else.
"My dear to-be-hero..." a voice said "I know what you want..."

Then my vision cleared.. I gasped.. It was my brother, Jay.. In a cage inside a cave.. Outside, I heard what seemed to be a waterfall.. The smell... even worse.. Rotten eggs.. I mean, I loved eggs.. but rotten- Gah! I wanted to talk to Jay.. but my mouth wouldn't respond to me.. His eyes was sending me a message 'Dont'
