I was woken up by my stupid alarm. It was about 6 am and I got up and got dressed in my normal work out clothes. When I walked outside the cold breeze hit my skin and I pulled my zipper up. I put my air pods in and started running towards the big lake

As I ran my thoughts started to cloud my mind

Why did I try sooo hard to impress everyone? Well not really everyone really it was only one person, Lucas Friar

I quickly had an answer for that question I just want to be better than Riley but how could I possibly compete with her

Why did Lucas choose her? Why didn't my dad choose me? Why did my mum and Shawn always argue? Why did Mr.Mathews change so much towards me? Why did I miss my old friend group so much?

This made my head spin I didn't realise where I was going until I fell into something rock hard and fell backwards hitting my head of the poll that was there to make sure no one fell into the lake

"Oh my god Maya are you okay? I didn't realise where I was going" I immediately recognised the voice

"Oh of course it had to be you" I rolled my eyes but immediately regretted it as my head hurt so much

I tried to stand up but my legs decided it wasn't the best idea and I fell back down but before I got to hit the ground I felt a hand on my waist pulling me back up

I couldn't help but feel the tingle on where his hand was and the shiver that ran down my spine

"Woah come on I think you need to see a first aider" Lucas said his bright green eyes piercing into my own,I couldn't ignore that an emotion flashed through them but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was

" yeah okay" this time I didn't try to argue my head hurt like it was about to explode and I winced at the pain in my knee

"So why you up so early?" He asked as we slowly walked towards the "hospital wing" well he was still holding my waist tightly but carefully so he wouldn't hurt me

"Umm I always go to run in the mornings you know as a cheerleader I need to be athletic" I winced once more as I tried to put more weight on my right leg

"Yeah I never knew you wanted to be a cheerleader it was always Riley trying to get in the team"

"Well none of yous asked and it was always Riley's thing well everything was always about her I was just the Bestfriend" i looked down at my shoes trying to make it seem like they were very interesting

"Well I understand how you felt but you didn't have to leave us only if you talked to us about it" I could feel his stare burning into my head

"Well What was the point really she always got everything and if I tried to believe in something that she didn't I always had to be the one that had to shut up and say sorry even though I didn't do anything she got everything, everything." I said now looking up at him just to meet his eyes

"God she even got you" I whispered quietly not breaking the eye contact. Oh my god Maya what did you just say you stupid bitch
"Uhh look we are here I think I should go in by myself

" you sure?"

"Yeah one hundred percent"I smiled softly
I walked in and as I was about to close the door I heard him mumble something but I couldn't make out what it was and I closed the door and walked towards the nurse slowly
