Just Talk To Him (Tyrus)

Cyrus is crushing on TJ, but is too scared to tell him how he feels. With help from his best friend, he is able to gain the confidence he needs.

Despite his best efforts, Cyrus found it difficult to hide his feelings for TJ. He had already told Andi and Buffy about his crush, and they were surprised but supportive.

He was sat down at lunch, and was approached by the girls. They knew it was going to be tough for him, but tried to give him reassurance.

Buffy: How's it going?

Cyrus: You know, the usual. Having strong feelings and being unable to act on them ever.

Andi: You should give yourself more credit. If you're open, you will gain lots of respect and all the self esteem you could ever want.

Cyrus: But I don't think I deserve to be happy. I should be more like Jonah. He's confident, and kind and sporty.

It made the girls sad to hear Cyrus talk with such negativity. They were desperate to help him in any way they could.

Just as they were coming up with their replies, Jonah showed up. He was wearing his signature dimpled smile, but this faded when he saw how sad everyone was.

Jonah: Is there a problem here?

Cyrus: N-no, everything is fine.

Jonah: Hmm, I don't believe you Cyrus. Now what's going on? Is someone bullying you?

Cyrus: I just... I'm going through a rough time personally okay? And I hate it so much

The girls sighed, as they knew Jonah had no idea about what was going on. Jonah wanted to find out what was making Cyrus so sad.

Jonah: Listen dude, I just want you to know that whatever is going on, you can talk to me.

Cyrus: You really mean that?

Jonah: Of course, we're friends aren't we?

Cyrus felt a small smile forming on his face, but then he remembered that he hadn't been completely honest with Jonah.

Cyrus: Yes we are.

Jonah: So please, tell me what I can do.

Cyrus: I... I'm sorry I never told you this earlier, but I have feelings for someone.

Without even realising it, Cyrus began sweating and he was visibly nervous. Jonah picked up on this and he had a question to ask.

Jonah: Cyrus... Is this person a guy?

Cyrus: Um...

It was all becoming very real for Cyrus, and there was a slight pause before Jonah felt the need to offer more support.

Jonah: If it is, then that's cool. You don't need to be ashamed.

Cyrus: Y-yes... It-it is a guy.

Jonah: Anyone I know?

Cyrus: It's TJ.

Jonah was shocked to hear that, but he could also tell how important this was so he tried not to look surprised. He noticed TJ in the distance, and wanted to get them together.

Jonah: Dude, TJ is over there. You should ask him out.

Cyrus: Are you kidding? As if he would like me.

Jonah: That's enough of the self doubt. I think he definitely likes you, seeing how you seem to bring out the best in him.

Cyrus: But what if  he doesn't feel the same way.

Jonah: Then you just need to remember that you will find someone. And when you do, you'll be so happy.

Andi: Well said.

Buffy: What are you waiting for?

Cyrus: Um... okay I'll do it.

Jonah: Great, you go Cyrus!

Cyrus: On one condition.

Jonah: Name it.

Cyrus: Will you stand near in case things go badly?

Andi: Sure.

Buffy: No problem.

Jonah: Come on dude, it's time.

Cyrus felt an inner confidence that he had been lacking for so long. He walked with his head held high, his friends close behind him. When TJ saw Cyrus, his face lit up, confirming to Jonah that there was a chance.

TJ: Hey muffin.

Cyrus: Hi Teej... Um I was wondering if maybe...

Then the self doubt came back and he considered backing out, but he was distracted by a familiar voice encouraging him.

Jonah: No self doubt! No self doubt! No self doubt! No self doubt!

TJ wasn't quite sure about what was happening, but he figured he would let Cyrus take his time and regain is composure.

Cyrus: I... I really like you TJ.

Jonah smiled, as did the girls. It had been a long time coming, but they were glad that Cyrus was finally gaining self esteem.

TJ: Really? As in you're in love with me?

Cyrus: Yes, I really love you. I want to go out with you.

TJ: You do?

Cyrus: Yes I do.

TJ smiled, causing Cyrus' heartbeat to go into overdrive. Before he knew it, TJ was kissing him and that made him very happy.

Jonah started to clap his hands, soon joined by Andi and Buffy. This was a very big moment and they were glad they got to see it.

TJ: I would love to go out with you.

Cyrus: This is amazing.

Jonah: See, I told you there was a chance.

Cyrus: Thank you Jonah.

Cyrus hugged his friends, feeling happy and relieved that they had been there for him. He had taken the biggest step in his life, and it had paid off.

So this was my first Tyrus oneshot.
