Too Cute (Jyrus)

Jonah makes a comment without realising how much it means to Cyrus. It gives Cyrus the self confidence to tell Jonah everything.

Jonah had agreed to meet up with Cyrus, Buffy and Andi at the spoon. They were going for their usual hangout after school, and nothing special was going on.

When he arrived, he spotted his friends immediately and joined them. Sitting down next to Andi and opposite Cyrus, he noticed his best friend looking glum.

Jonah: What's up dude?

Cyrus: I've just been feeling so sad.

Jonah: Do you want to talk about it?

Cyrus: No, if you don't mind.

Jonah: That's okay, but if you want to speak, just tell me.

Cyrus: Thank you.

The girls was preoccupied as they spoke to each other about Marty and Walker. They were unaware of what the boys were talking about.

Buffy: So I Marty likes me.

Andi: Are you going to go out with him?

Buffy: I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet.

Andi: I want to go out with Walker, but he hasn't asked me yet.

Buffy: If he has any sense, then he will.

Andi: I hope you're right.

The girls were so engrossed with their conversation that they failed to notice that Cyrus was crying. Jonah couldn't ignore his friend, and tried to ease his hurt.

Jonah: Dude, whatever is on your mind, you'll probably feel better if you talk to someone about it.

Cyrus: But Jonah, why would anyone be the slightest bit interested in what I'm going to say?

Jonah: Cyrus, I care about you.

Cyrus: You really want me to say?

Jonah: Yes I do, come on bro.

Cyrus: Fine, I'm annoyed because the guys in class keep mocking me.

Jonah was unaware that anyone was being horrid to Cyrus, and he began to feel guilty for not noticing it before.

Jonah: What exactly did they say?

Cyrus: They kept telling me that I'm ugly.

Jonah: Well they're blind. Anyone with the gift of sight can see that you're cute.

Cyrus' head looked up, and he watched Jonah. He thought that he had imagined what Jonah had said.

Cyrus: What did you just say?

Jonah: I said that you're cute.

Cyrus: That's what I thought you said.

Jonah: What's the problem?

Cyrus: Okay, I need to be straight with you... Well as you'll soon discover maybe not.

Jonah: I'm listening.

Cyrus: Jonah I'm gay.

Jonah: I guessed that Cyrus.

Jonah felt very proud of his friend for coming out, but Cyrus was sitting in near shock. His body felt tense, and his mind was all over the place.

Cyrus: It was obvious?

Jonah: Perhaps this is the time to tell you that I'm bisexual.

Cyrus: Wait... really?

Jonah: Yes I am, and I've been wanting to tell you for so long.

Cyrus: Wow, that's exactly the same as how I've felt..

Jonah: So we've both got something off of our minds today then.

Andi and Buffy had started paying attention to the boys the moment Cyrus made his admission to Jonah. It was all going so well, but they also knew Cyrus had more to tell.

Cyrus: Jonah... I think that you should know, I've been in love with you ever since I can remember.

Jonah: Why didn't you tell me?

Cyrus: I was scared that you wouldn't talk to me.

Jonah: Well for the first time that I know of, you were wrong.

Cyrus: What?

Jonah: Cyrus, you mean everything to me. I have wanted to go out with you, but I was worried that if I told you, it may scare you.

Cyrus: And that's the first time you've ever been wrong.

Andi: Will you just go out already.

Buffy: The suspense is killing us!

Jonah: Okay, will you go out with me?

Cyrus: No...

Jonah: What?!

Cyrus: Just joking, I will go out with you.

Jonah didn't want to hold back anymore, and he dragged Cyrus to one side to kiss him. It was over quickly, but that didn't make it any less enjoyable.

Cyrus: This is the greatest day of my life.

Jonah: Mine too.

The girls laughed, as Jonah grabbed Cyrus' hand and they walked out together. They just hoped that Walker and Marty would as them out so they weren't the third wheels.
