HALLOWEEN SPECIAL! This is a flashback in Leah's point of view. She is going trick-or-treating with a boy who's the son of her parents' friends and a new friend from school who she thinks has best friend potential.

Enjoy (:

"Guys, stop fighting!"
"Lee, hush. We're busy."
"No, you're fighting. That's not the same as being busy."

Joshua and Alyssa are fighting. Again. Alyssa is angry because of something Josh said to her. I didn't hear, by when she tried to tell me, Joshua held her in a headlock with his hand over her mouth. She's tough, though. She wasn't going to take anything from him. She did what any girl would do: brought her foot up to his crotch. Hard. He let go of her, but her kept trying to hit her. He swatted her arm a few times, but she used her almighty high heels again to kick him in the gut.

Usually Alyssa wins physical fights. It's not because Josh is going easy on her. He would never do that. It's just that Alyssa has older brothers and older cousins who pick on her. They went easy until she learned their weaknesses. A kick to the balls, a kick to the gut and a punch to the throat. If someone restrained her legs, she pinched them. It was her warning. If they didn't let go still, she bit them. She's got surprisingly sharp teeth and a strong bite. Joshua has a scar from Alyssa's teeth.

She once told an eighth grader she was a vampire. The girl wasn't having any of it. We were in the hallway just walking and the older girl started picking on her, just an itsy-bitsy sixth grader. Her hair-pulling was no match for Alyssa's boob-punching, pinching, and biting. The eighth grader commented that she had sharp teeth, she must not be normal. "I'm a vampire," Alyssa replied. To prove it, she bit the girl's arm again and drawing blood. Alyssa was tough and competitive. She wouldn't be brought down by anyone. I tried to stay on her good side. She's tough, and even though I've never seen her cry, I know that she's also very emotional and sensitive. She just doesn't know how to show it.

Alyssa and Joshua fought more than I had ever seen anyone fight before. Their opinions always clashed, and they liked picking on each other so they could start to fight. One time, they were fighting so bad at school, all three of us got suspended for a month. That provoked Alyssa, so what did she choose to do? Bite the principal. She bit him on his left forearm. The police came. It rarely ever got that bad, but Alyssa got riled up quickly.

They fought over simple things like apples vs. oranges or if Romeo and Juliet was good or not. Surprisingly, he was arguing that it was good and she was arguing that (and I quote) "if, and only if, moronic buffoons like yourself stop misinterpreting it." She always somehow makes him feel stupid and uncultured even though he has better grades and pays more attention to the world of pop culture than her. They loved to hate each other. I'd say they hated to love each other, but I've seen the two of them in the same room together, there isn't, nor will there ever be, any love present.

Currently, they were fighting about a band that she loved, but he hated. It had escalated to insulting each other's taste in music, then they took it a step further by screaming every personal secret that they knew of the other to the world.

"Joshua peed his pants last week!"
"Alyssa reads gay porn!"
"Joshua has a huge man-crush on Taylor Lautner!"
"Alyssa thinks vampires are real!"
"Joshua told me that when he's alone, he likes to-"
"Don't you dare!"
"Hey Leah, when Josh is alone, he-"
Josh bent down and whispered something to her. She went pale instantly. She was trying to tell me what he had said to her, but he grabbed her and covered her mouth with his hand. Bad move.

Now that we left our house, I had to stand in between Joshua and Alyssa in order to keep them from killing each other. We had only gone to three houses so far and they were already threatening each other. It was going to be a fun night if it kept up. After a few more houses, though, it started to get more fun. Alyssa pulled out her iPod and started playing Halloween-themed songs. She went in the middle of the street and made up choreography to Flying Purple People Eater and Ghostbusters. She didn't miss a beat. Joshua was impressed, but she was more impressed when he started breakdancing next to her. They were enjoying themselves (together, no less!) for the first time since they've met.

The night went smoothly, from there on. We got candy, we sang and danced if people said "I'll give you a treat if you show me a trick," we laughed and had a genuinely good time. Until the end of the night, that is.

When were were walking back up to my driveway, Joshua decided to stop Alyssa and talk to her. It seemed private, so I just waited for them at the top of the driveway. They were talking for a while, so I turned around to look at them. Just as I did, I saw Josh leaning in to kiss her. She was surprised, but she didn't react fast enough. When he pulled away (after six seconds by my count), she slapped him hard in the face. That was the only time I've ever seen them kiss. I don't think they know that I saw.

Hey, guys! So, what do you think about the Halloween special? Do you want to know more about 'Lys and Josh as kids? I enjoyed writing it, but I think it's a special occasion thing. I love Halloween. I'm posting this on Devil's night so it isn't actually Halloween, but I think it's alright. Do you like the two chapters in two days thing? I won't be able to update this weekend so it might be a while. I can't even work on writing it because on Saturday, I have NaNoWriMo to start!

I have a solid idea in my head, but I don't know if I should post it or not. I might. Let me know if I should! You'd be getting daily updates of 1167 words apiece so that could be nice, right? Anyway, I finally updated my Wattpad App so I can now add pictures strait from my iPad without having to put in the link to the picture or whatever. I think I'm going to get a relevant picture for each chapter, so you should go back and check that out, too.

I hope you all have a fantabuloustic Halloween (: I want to know what you're all dressing up as, so let me know in the comments or in a message.

Bye for now.
