This morning and last night was horrible. I felt horrible. I hardly made it through chopping all the wood, never mind getting out of bed after what had happened. I never wanted to sleep again. It terrified me.
As I walked absentmindedly through the woods, I sighed. I couldn't bring myself to look around and scout out nature after the deer nightmare incident. It obviously wasn't real, but it scared me nonetheless. I shivered.
Looking up at the sun peeking through the vibrant dark green leaves of the canopy above me, I felt a little calmer. Walking through the woods helped me no matter what circumstances. Even the mosquitos didnt other me, although I did slap them away.

Snapping my head down from the canopy I yelped in shock as my foot was yanked up. I had wandered off the main path, and something had clamped my ankle and was holding me upside down. I felt the blood rush to my head, making me feel woozy. I hardly saw it coming as the carved wood spear impaled me. I emitted a soundless cry as blood gurgled up and out of my throat. A hunting trap. What a stupid way to die, and how dumb of me.

"Aye, she ain't no critter. Reckon her bone marrow will make some good cheddar?" A gruff sounding man asked. I could hardly see as my vision blurred, blood dripping into my eyes. I felt myself slip away from life. "Copy, boss. Critter or naw, it's the organs that matters. Think the hospitals will question we made made this much money, hey?" The voices sounded so.. far away. Farther and farther. I couldn't hear the hunter's muffled voices.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip. The drops of blood came less frequently now. It was the only thing I could hear. I felt my body relax.

Then I was falling. Falling, falling, falling. Fast. "No! Wait! Don't I go up?! Someone help!" I wailed, grabbing at the vanishing sky. Now it was just red and black. Smoke enveloped me. Panicking, I looked around. I floated motionless into a dark void. Where are the angels, the band, the harps? The little happy children floating around, my old family welcoming me with their big puffy white angel wings? Whimpering, I curled into a ball and, for some reason, fell unconscious.

Vacancy detected.

The voice rang through my mind. Then, I was falling. I haven't felt movement in so long. I almost forgot what it felt like to have gravity shove me around. I had no clue how long I was asleep. All I could think about was me plummeting. All I smelled was death, cigarettes, and the stench of blood. When my vision recovered, I saw monsters. Demons. So many of them! Fearful, I looked around. Why was I in Hell? I mean.. I swore, I tried self harm because we couldn't afford food for so long.. I must have just made it in. What did it mean by vacancy detected? Was hell full? Was this city IT?! Was this city ALL of HELL?! Why is everything so colourful?! Why are there flashy lights displaying PEOPLE?! The thoughts racing through my head are overwhelming me. "Hi! My name is Charlie." A sweet girl suddenly appeared in front of me, a broad smile on her porcelain looking face. "Ah!" I jumped back a little. She pulled me up and into a little corner. "Okay. My dad and my girlfriend say I have to introduce myself to as many new demons as I can. But it's SO. HARD." Charlie huffed. "Anyways, I'm the princess of Hell yadda yadda formal stuff. Anywho, I'm assuming you would need a place to stay? By the way, lovely deer ears. What's your name?" The girl, apparently the princess of Hell, rambled on and on. "Nice to meet you, yes I do, my name is Y/N and I'm sorry to say I am not a deer." I said, flustered. "Oh, they're all like this." Charlie giggled. Reaching her hands slightly above my head I felt.. SOMETHING on my head brush against her hand. She let her hand flop by her side. "Sorry, This May be shocking but you're a deer. Welcome to Hell, today is September 25th 2019! The clock just hit midnight." Charlie beamed at me. "Wait.. 2019?! I was waiting for Hell to be available since 1933!" I gasped in shock. "Ah yes.. that happens." She cringed a little. "Sorry....." Charlie slid her gaze to the ground. "It's fine, I think, I don't know!" Stressing out, I ran my hands through my hair and smoothed the fur on my H/C ears. "Well.. could you maybe take me to a place to stay..?" I asked cautiously, smiling again. Charlie's joyous glow immediately returned as she tugged me along. "Come!" She giggled.

I went along with her as she pulled me, confused but her infectious glee spread into me. Running at the same pace, we arrived in front of a giant hotel, with a sign reading "Happy Hotel" with the H in happy flickering every so often. I mean, it was okay but what would you expect in Hell? For a girl her age it was awesome. We pushed open the door, strolling in. "CHARLIE! Where the hell were you?! I had to answer to the RADIO DEMON!" An aggravated girl puffed out her hair, the bow bristling in some unknown breeze, her hands clenched in anger. "Ohhh no." Charlie began getting nervous. "That's very bad. I'm so sorry, my love." Charlie wrung her hands together. "What's a Radio Demon?" I asked quietly. "YOU'LL find out soon enough. Vaggie shot me a stinging glare. I mirrored it back at her, and she huffed, looking back to Charlie. "He's over there. We.. obviously can't trust him." Vaggie looked over at a tall man with bright red and plum hair and he had deer ears, just like me. I felt something nagging at the back of my mind but I shoved it away dismissively. Charlie has placed her hands on Vaggie's arm. The radio demon slumped, leaning his arm on some protruding wooden wall lining. Observing his hand, he let his fingers fall like dominos into a fist, before letting it fall to his side. He glanced at us, his smile widening and his eyebrow raised, before lowering it once again. "He's all charms. You can't trust him no matter how attractive he SEEMS. Angel Dust, I'm talking to YOU." Vaggie swung her finger around at a white and pink furred spider, who sloppily removed his lips from a popsicle. "Why don't we give him a chance, dear? He said he'd help us, after all?" Charlie smiled softly. I was downright confused, but I got the gist of it. Radio man came, offered help even though he's usually evil, and they can't trust him. I sighed. "I mean, Charlie does have a point. Why not give him a chance? We could at least shove him out the door because it'll be four against one. We wouldn't get near killing him, so don't get any ideas." I tried my best to explain to the angry girl named Vaggie. "Okay, even though you don't know anything I agree." Charlie said, looking softly up at her girlfriend. "Fine, whatever!" She threw her hands up. "You two sort him out, I need to go for a walk." She mumbled, walking away. "Bye, Vaggie!" Charlie waved.

Charlie and I approached the radio demon. Looking back over at us, he clasped his hands together. "Thank you for making the decision, dear!" The radio demon anxiously perked his ears and looked down at Charlie, who folded her arms and raised her chin. "We will let you help. No killing guests, no making big choices without our approval, and meet Y/N." Charlie shoved me in front of her with her wide smile. "H-h-hi?" I stammered, not sure what to say. Then I instantly cringed. Straightening my shoulders, I stared up at him. "Oh, I already know her.. welcome to hell." He placed his hands on my shoulders, his pupils radio dials.

It all came flashing back.

The hunter trap.

The deer getting shot.

Screaming.

The tall deer-man with the glowing radio dial eyes and smile. "You can run, but you'll never be able to hide." That sentence. Just remembering it sent shivers down my spine.

"Uhhh... I'll let you two get acquainted." Before I could object, Charlie was already dashing away in the direction Vaggie went. The spider was gone. The radio demon leaned down slightly to reach eye level, and smirked. I took a step back, uncomfortable with how close we were. "Are you going to make me chase you down here, as well?" I kept eye contact with him as he spoke. "No shit I am, radio demon." I spoke with no emotion. "Very well, dear. Please, call me Alastor." His voice sounded like a purr as he stood up and walked away, leaving me alone and with my own decisions.
