(This is me) I got over cancer almost a year ago and I'm at the ALDC, Miss Abby and I share something that the other kids on the team don't, we both got diagnosed with cancer but we fought and we are both still here today, I can walk while Miss Abby can't, she's in a wheelchair but everyday she tells me that I'm lucky to walk unlike her and that I should thank god every day for giving me the chance to walk and dance again and I do, my hair grew back fast after I was cured of cancer it took a long time but it grew back while Miss Abby wears wigs, she tells me I'm lucky that my hair grew back unlike her.
In my third week of being on the team I became best friends with Sarah, Hannah and Brady and I now have a crush on Brady, he's super cute
We arrived at the studio and we go into studio A
After pyramid...
Miss Abby said "This week we are traveling to Scranton, Pennsylvania to attend the dream maker competition, we have four solos, Hannah, your solo is Jazz and it's entitled Tainted rose, you will be portraying the role of gypsy rose lee, Brady, you will also have a solo, the name of your solo is Swan song and it's contemporary ballet, GiaNina, you will also have a solo, the name of your solo is Snowflake and it's lyrical, this is for your grandma, she passed away right before your broadway debut" "During it" Joanne said to Miss Abby correcting her before Miss Abby said "Oh, during it" "10 days in" GiaNina then cried and we all hug her and GiaNina said to Miss Abby "Thank you" Miss Abby then said to her "This is the lyrical routine that you wanted, what you told me you needed to win, the it dance" we then all stop hugging her and we got back into our line positions and then Gia said to Miss Abby "I won't let you down nor will I let my grandma down or myself" "It's you you have to worry about, I don't think your grandma would mind" Miss Abby then said "My last solo goes to Riley, Riley your solo is entitled faith is all I need, it's about a girl who has cancer and all she needs is faith that she'll live, she's fight and she'll win her cancer battle and in the end she does, this solo is dedicated to you because it hits closer to home to you then other people, I'll let your mother explain to the moms about that" I then said to her "I won't let you down, you are a warrior as well and I don't want to let myself or you down so I really want to dedicate this solo to you as well" "Thank you sweetie, thank you" Miss Abby then said to all of us "The group dance this week is entitled King of queens and it's contemporary, Brady you will be the lead in this routine, All right moms your dismissed, kids spread apart and warm up"
Third persons POV While watching their kids rehearse Ashley said to Amaya "Amaya I'm sorry to bug you but what Abby said in pyramid was that Riley's solo was dedicated to Riley because it hits closer to home to her than other people I mean what's up with that?" Amaya then said to Ashley while the other moms were listening "This happened two years ago when Riley was 11 years old she was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma which is cancer and it was a battle, she had to go through chemo, she had to go to the hospital a lot and it was scary not just for her but for me too, the doctors told me that for people with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma, the survival rate is lower but she fought and she fought and then one day almost a year ago the doctors told her that she was finally cured and there was no more cancer in her, we thank god every day that her hair grew back and she can walk and breathe and be a normal kid again, I woke up every single day during her cancer battle that she would live and she would dance and she would be a normal kid again and now she's better and she's healthy and happy again" Amaya then cried a little bit before she said "Things like this, some people don't make it, I just thank god every day for her being here, walking, breathing, dancing, I just thank him every day" "Oh my god, I never thought that Riley was a survivor of cancer" "It hits home for me, it does"
