Chapter Fifteen

The next month was just as bad as the last one, Haden was still having doubts and Evan was still telling her that he loved her and everything he could to make her happy and it worked for a bout a wek or two and then she would go back to trying tor actually hurting herself and Evan would be there to pick up the broken pieces and place them back together, but one night when he was working late, Haden had finally snapped.

Evan's phone rang nad it was doctor Howard, he answered, "Hey, Keith, is eveything alright?"

"I'm afraid not Evan, you need to come to the hospital now. I must speek with you." Keith said. Evan was about to answer when the line went dead, he didn't know what to make of the phone call so he told his boss what was going on and he headed to the hospital to see what the problem was.

When he pulle into the parking lot, the police and ambulance was there, he quickly got out of his truck and ran into the building and saw Keith standing by the door waiting. Evan tried to move past him saying, "What's going on? Where's Haden? Is she alright?"

Keith pulled him aside and said, "I'm afraid something terrible has happened to Haden."

Evan's eyes grew wider and asked, "Keith, what happened?"

All Keith said was, "Follow me."

They walked to Haden's room and found Haden hanging from the ceiling with a bed sheet wrapped around her neck. Evan couldn't look, it was too horrible to even look at, she had put on her wedding dress and even wrote Evan a note. The police office handed him the note and began to read: "My dearest Evan, I am sorry for what I am about to do, but I just can't take this anymore. I'm sorry I brought you into all of this crap. I'm sorry for everything that I have done. I just feel like I need to be off this world and out of your life, I have caused you and your parents a lot of problems and I don't want to be a burden on you or anyone else. I'm not sorry that I met you though; you were and are the best person that has ever happened to me. You have made my life so amazing, so adventurous, so wonderful and so joyful that it pains me to write this, but I know that no matter where I am you will always love me and you'll never forget me. Wherever I end up, I will always love you Evan. Promise me. You won't forget our laughs. Our jokes. Our smiles. Our conversations. Our plans. Our tears. Our memories. Our experiences. Our friendship and most importantly our love. Thank you for a wonderful adventure."

Evan folded the note up and put it in his pocket and looked at the wall and saw that she had wrote his name in her blood. He couldn't understand why she would end her life after she married him, he didn't know what he did wrong, he just couldn't understand any of it. She only had a month left to go and she just threw it away, she threw away all of their plans, she threw away their future together, he couldn't believe what had happened. What really happened? Why did she kill herself just a month before she was going to get released? What happened? Why her? Why him? Why them? These were all important questions that needed to be answered and the only person that would be able to give him those answers was now dead, but maybe Dr. Howard had some answers too.

Evan walked out of the room and found Dr. Howard talking to one of the officers and asked, "Keith, can I talk to you?"

The officer finished taking his statement and Keith said, "Yes Evan."

"What happened?" Evan asked.

Keith sighed, "I am not sure Evan, but I think that when she found out that her release date was oushed up to another month, she snapped."

"Wait, she was going to have to stay for another month?" Evan asked.

Keith pulled out a piece of paper and said, "Yes, becasue of her cutting last months, they gave her another month."
