Kah'ruk was silent, listening to the crackling electricity from their own palm permeate through the elevator as it ascended toward the sky. "That Verillian is almost more trouble than they are worth." Kah'ruk whispered as their antenna twitched in thought. The desciple wondered if the scion could have been found stalking around if Bry'nk hadn't distracted from their goals. But none the less Kah'ruk took a liking to the welp and -

A set of green eyes blinked lightly as they glanced through the porthole of the elevator at the bottom of the massive opal structure above. What if young Bry'nkoff was working with whom ever was stalking the Luvion and Verillian families? Of course there was no evidence to place the insect as one of the suspected Scionis; Other than their incessant snooping, and love for relics, but as a queen's guard Kah'ruk had to consider all possibilities; after all the reports of figures in the dark during the time of dreams it was a shame to be returning to the queen so soon, and without a lead of any kind. But her voice was heard on the descent down, and she sounded calm, as she always did. It was the the faintest hint of worry that hid behind her words that made Kah'ruk worry.

The insect's neck fur prickled as the metal contraption stopped just below the roof in order to hook onto a steel rail on the ceiling of the Verillian's domain, grinding lightly toward the opal shaped structure as Kah'ruk willed it to do so. The gap between the guard and it's queen closed, a section of the opal structure beginning to shift and erode away like an ocean tide pulling at a cliff over thousands of years. However, before Kah'ruk's very eyes, the hole sanded away into a cloud of dust in a manner of seconds which drifted and glittered through the air before fastening itself once more against the structure.Without hesitation, Kah'ruk guided the elevator inside and seated it gently within a ring of iridescent steel embedded into the spokes ofa long forgotten wheel. With a flick of the wrist and a light *Shunk!* Kah'ruk stepped out onto the shifting and rippling gem beneath it's feet.

"Welcome back Kah'ruk" Echoed a gentle, but firm voice that bounced around in it's skull, exuding an air of elegance behind its stoic inflection. As the words spoke, another door began to erode away along the wall to the left, as a perfectly smooth set of stairs protruded from the wall and spiraled down to the feet of the queen's guard. "Please, I must speak with you. eye to eye."

Kah'ruk's piercing emerald eyes widened in surprise, it's chest feeling tight as it took one, unsure step up the staircase of stone. "M...My Queen! I don't understand." the Insect's one antenna stood firmly, twitching at the reverberating sensations that came from her soothing voice, but none the less the body shivered. Each step seemed to take an eternity, watching it shift and wobble beneath each foot. " No one has seen you since we were both welps! It's a break of commandment, It..I.. as your disciple I am to enact your will, be your eyes, be your face, be your soul. You are not to be-"

The words were silenced; they were not interrupted, merely ushered away by the presence beyond, like a gentle finger hushing them from it's mouth. Once more Kah'ruk shivered as they ascended the stairs, trying to regain composure.

"Shhh, You are more than that. You are my friend, and a pillar of confidence that keeps me from shaking. There is something you must know, and you alone." The silky voice trailed away once more; And with a firm nod Kah'ruk agreed, quickening their pace as they marched up the stairs and beyond. Before the one who called themself Kah'ruk lay another massive room, this one, creating a strobe of glittering iridescence that filled the air with sparkling light. The very center of room swirled and shifted like a whirlpool of liquid stone as a figure rested above, embedded from her waist down in the ceiling of the room. She looked much like the others of the Verillian family, although certain features had shifted in her ascension. Her antennae had grown fuller and longer, her eyes bolder and brighter, and thousands of purple designs and patterns filled the surface of her chitin like the fractal patterns of thin ice.
