"You thought this was a date?" His humored chuckle replays in my mind, haunting me with the same hurt as the day he had said it.

I knew it was too good to be true. He was too good to be true. It was not possible for him to be that good looking and have manners.

I don't know why I am even thinking about him. Or why I keep wondering what he is doing right now. I wish I could shove him into the back of my mind and forget about him.

I step off the elevator, running my fingers through my wet hair. It had been raining all day, of course it was my luck that I decide to walk today.

My clothes cling to my body, the water drips from the edges of the fabric. I shove myself forward down the hallway to my front door. It is silent for now, the only sound is my wet shoes on the concrete.

I was home early from work, we weren't all that busy today. I could get some work done for school. Thank god!

I fumble for my keys. I jingle them into the key hole, making a quick turning, and shoving the door open. I glance at the floor as I head in, watching the door shut in front of me. I hang up my coat and my bag, turning to catch a small glimpse of the spacious living room of the apartment.

I freeze at three large bodies lounging lazily on our furniture. All three heads turn to look at me with pure rage. I stood glued to the floor as I focus on one body in particular, those familiar blue eyes stare back at me with malice.

The corners of his mouth tilt upward slightly, those eyes take in my wet appearance. "Hello, Princess." Roland speaks loudly, my heart drops to the floor.

"What are you doing in my apartment? More importantly...how did you even get in?" I cross my arms over my chest, suddenly I am aware that my clothing is stuck to me in all places.

"Not happy to see me?" His plump bottom lip pokes out, faking hurt. "Shay got me a key made." He shrugs, standing to his full height.

"Thanks, Shay." I grumble, shaking my head as I head to the kitchen. "Whatever. Enjoy your.....whatever you've got going on." I spit as I disappear from his gaze. I snatch open the fridge, I grab a beer and twist the cap off the bottle.

Three pairs of feet thud against the concrete floor towards me. I take a long sip from the cold bottle I clutch in my right hand. "Who is the cutie?" A gruff voice echoes into the empty space and I turn to look at the three blocking my exit.

"I am none of your concern." I sigh taking another chug from the bottle. Roland watches me closely, giggling lightly at my answer.

"She's the goody two shoes room mate." Roland informs, leaning against the door frame. The other two eye me closely, both noting the tension between Roland and I.

"She doesn't look like a goody two shoes." The other guy speaks up. His hair is cut much like Roland's, his beard is long and reddish colored. Glasses covers a pair of deep blue eyes, his body towers over everyone else in the room. His vibe is dangerous, he reminds me a lot of Roland in how he carries himself.

"She has more fire than Shay and Eva." The first guy speaks up again. He is tall but smaller framed than Roland and the other guy. Dark hair is braided down on his head like a dark crown. A dark scruff covers his sharp jaw, brown eyes glue to my face as he studies me.

"Berit, this is Slim." Roland points to the tall one with glasses, I get a silent nod in return. "And that is Shady." His hand motions to the other guy with the dark braids.

"What up, baby girl?" He throws me a flirty grin, I shake my head as I finish my drink.

"Yeah. Cool. I have work to do." I state with a frustrated sigh, throwing my empty bottle into the trash. I head for the door, Roland blocks my exit on purpose.
