Fire, ruin and agony. That's all there is. War has died down, soldiers no longer moved or fought, it was silent. Lucy was the only person conscious to see the devastating silence, she was still disoriented from the impact. Slow yet heavy her breaths were, Natsu's scarf still clutched around her neck miraculously despite being burnt and scratched from the flames. She was too weak to move, her body inflicted with pain. She used her Light Magic to heal herself, her body bathed in glorious brilliance as all of her wounds were recovered.
Her attention shifted to her friends lying around unconsciously, all in different positions from the devastating attack. She took a step. Walking over to her lover, Natsu. He blacked out from the blow. She gave a look of sorrow as she proceeded to heal him next. The glistening radiance showered over Natsu, bathing him from head to toe with pure light, Natsu soon gained consciousness after Lucy aiding him.
Natsu: Ugh....What...happened..?
Lucy: Ankhseram...he nearly destroyed us...
Natsu raised a hand as he proceeded to touch Lucy's cheek, cupping her cheek in his palm with little energy he had left.
Natsu: I'm glad...that you're safe...
Lucy smiled and gave a small kiss on Natsu's hand returning the gesture.
Lucy: Thank you, Natsu...
A FEW HOURS LATER...
The day went by as night slowly rolled in and drew the sky with a sapphire coat of paint, stars complimented the indigo night with heavenly embers. This concluded the second day of the Great Magic War. During these nightly hours, everyone who were attacked by the blast soon recovered and went back to their respective posts to guard Magnolia, everyone was still affected by Ankhseram's attacks as casualties were found on the battlefield. This just proved that Ankhseram and his lieutenants were stronger than they thought.
As Team Natsu sat in the woods, surrounding the lit campfire to sustain their warmth. They couldn't help but feel ashamed for their defeat and overestimation. Erza felt she was to blame for letting down their guild, her head laid down to the ground in embarrassment and dishonour. No one felt eager to say anything let alone lighten up the mood, there was no point in taking especially after what happened. No point whatsoever.
Lucy looked around to see her friends down in the dumps saying nothing but sulking, she closed her eyes and took a breath to say something to break the miserable silence.
Lucy: Guys...I'm sorry...
Everyone lifted up their heads and slowly turned to Lucy as she apologised.
Gray: For what?
Lucy:..I'm sorry for dragging us into this situation, for motivating us to get Wendy to extract Mavis and Zeref's magic and almost losing to Ankhseram!
Lucy started to break down as she poured her heart out, tears poured from her eyes and dripped on her hand.
Lucy: It's my fault!
The team looked at one another then back to Lucy with concern, they empathised with Lucy as they experienced the same. As Lucy continued her melancholic state, she felt a tiny paw touching her, it was Happy.
Happy: Don't worry about it, Lucy! We're with you all the way!
Juvia: That's right, it's not your fault we failed. In fact, we succeeded.
Gray: We wouldn't have been able to do this successfully if you didn't step in with the idea of Wendy's extraction enchantment.
Wendy: He's right!
