"So, who do you live with?"

"My friend Serena."

"Just the two of you?"

I ran my hand through my hair. "Y-Yeah, it's just the two of us now."

"Who else used to live with you?"

"Ask me another question." I said in a rushed tone.

"Okay," He cleared his throat as he avoided tapping his pen against his clipboard. I've expressed my opinion on how I feel about his tapping.

"Where are you parents?"

I groaned. "Seriously??" I asked and he nodded.

"Fine. We can talk about that." I caved as I sat up on the couch.

"My mum is in Australia with my Grandma Josie and my dad is...somewhere in London."

"Where do you wanna start?"

"Honestly? Nowhere."

"Stop being so defensive."

I blinked numerous times. "Yeah, you heard me. You gotta level with me so I can do my job here." He sighed.

"Well what if I just wanna sit here in silence?" I countered and he placed his pen and clipboard down and crossed his arms.

"Then we will sit here. But you paid for this session, so I assume you do wanna see some kind of change in your life. That means you're gonna have to talk."

Damn.

"Damn." I mumbled.

I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear before taking a deep breath.

"My parents had a really messy divorce. They literally hate each other now. I kind of hated mum so I chose to stay here when she decided to move."

He sat up and nodded for me to continue.

"Well my life was here; my school, my friends. I knew better than most what moving meant, so I  chose the easier option and stayed."

"Did you have contact with your mum after she left?"

"Surprisingly, yes." I admitted.

"I flew out to Australia a few summers, mainly to visit Grandma Josie and she'd be there,"

"What would you guys do?"

"Well I had modelling, and that was my life in Australia. It was something I chose to do and for a short period of time, I loved it."

"What changed?"

"I just felt like it wasn't me. It wasn't something I enjoyed as I got older, so I quit."

"So then you stopped going to Australia, cause I assume you had no reason to be there,"

I paused. "Yeah, I guess."

"Well what about your life here?"

I blew a raspberry. "Well that's a lot more complicated."

"Walk me through it."

"Where have you been?" Serena asked as I walked into the house and I looked at her on the kitchen island, holding her phone.

"On a walk." I lied.
