"Do you both know each other?"
Taeyong gulped upon hearing Jaehyun's question, in the corner of his eye, he could see Ten's nervousness and Hendery's forced smile.
"Uhm— we've passed by each other once, w-we're only acquaintances.." Taeyong managed to cover up the fact that he used to date Ten, that would be extremely uncomfortable.
Despite his suspicion, Jaehyun nods as he looked at Ten. "So, how's it been?"
Ten, who was in the middle of a daze, flinched upon hearing Jaehyun's question. "Pardon?"
"Didn't you go to China for a while and met Hendery there?" Jaehyun crossed his arms, "I always wonder what your thinking about."
Hendery snorts out loud, making Taeyong raise a brow. "Funny you think Ten thinks," Jaehyun chuckled at the younger's statement. Ten, on the other hand, slapped his boyfriend's forearm softly.
Taeyong had never felt so out of place in his life, ever.
He smiles wider when he's with Hendery, Taeyong thought as he watched Ten grinning widely as Hendery made another joke. Damn, I'm pretty boring..
"Taeyong?" The latter's ears perked up as he heard the soft, deep voice calling him out. His brows furrowed as he looked at Jaehyun, who gave him a concerned look. "Are you okay?"
Taeyong nods instantly, "yes, of course!" He said, "why wouldn't I be?"
Jaehyun shrugs, "you just seem out of it, did something happen between you guys?"
From Taeyong's point of view, it looked like Jaehyun already knew everything about him and Ten, and right now, he was teasing him. But of course, he didn't believe that.
"I can take you out of here if you want." Jaehyun's voice had turned into a whisper, Taeyong, being the only one who heard it, instantly shook his hands.
"You haven't seen them in so long, Jaehyun. I—"
"Hey, Ten, Hendery," Jaehyun called the couple out, "we're heading now, take care!" He exclaimed, "and let's meet up soon," he added as he grabbed Taeyong's arms and lead him through the hallways.
Once they arrived at the door, Jaehyun let go of Taeyong's hand.
For a split second, Taeyong missed the warm feeling of the younger's soft hand. It felt so welcoming, it felt like home.
Jaehyun smiled as he opened the door, "now, where to? The park, or the movies?"
Taeyong shrug, "I'm fine with any."
Jaehyun grinned as he snapped his fingers, "okay, movies it is."
———
"Here's your ticket, Tae." Jaehyun gave the piece of paper to Taeyong, it had the information and the number of the seat he would be sitting on.
The movie would start in two hours, so they had plenty of time to do stuff.
They both looked at each other with a knowing look, they silently read each other's mind and gave the other a nod.
They might not be that close, but they have a connection.
"The arcades!"
And that's how they ended up in a bright colored place, filled with flashing lights and loud sounds coming from the machines.
The first thing that Taeyong looked at was the claw machines, or everyone's worst enemies at arcades. Taeyong had never tried taking anything out a claw machine, so he wanted this time to be his first.
"Let's do this one," Taeyong begged Jaehyun, he did his puppy eyes, making Jaehyun sigh, "fine!"
Taeyong silently cheered as he took a coin out his pocket, he placed it down the slot and instantly, the machine lights lit up.
His hand was on the joystick, his eyes focused on the claw to properly aim over a plushie, and his other hand ready to press the red button.
"Go," Jaehyun whispered out to him, "press the button now."
And so he did, the claw went down slowly and grabbed ahold of the plushie. Please don't fall please don't fall please don't fall please don't fall—
And he got the plushie.
