Bryce isn't a rapist (He's still a pervert but not a rapist)
I opened the front door and automatically spotted Monty's signature Jeep parked just across the road from my house. Quickly, I shut the door and made my way over to him, opening the passenger's side door and climbing into the seat. "Whoa Abi, you look stunning." Monty smiled as I buckled up my seatbelt. "Awh thank you." I blushed, "You don't look too bad yourself." "Aha, thanks. Ready to go?" Monty asked and I nodded in response. He took one last glance at me before diverting his eyes towards the road, backing out of the space he was parked in and driving down the road.
The drive to Rosie's was only fifteen minutes or so but that didn't stop us blasting music and chatting. My anxiety for this date all disappeared after just a few moments being sat in Monty's car. There was no awkward silence at all as every moment was full of us laughing and joking together.
We arrived at Rosies at about 5:20 pm and we made our way over to an empty booth together. We sat opposite each other and we both looked at the menus. "What are you going to get?" Monty asked, looking up from his menu. "Uhh, I think I just want some fries and a strawberry milkshake." I said, closing the menu and looking at Monty. "Sounds good, I think I'll get the same." He replied, putting down his menu. I nodded and the waiter came over and Monty gave him our order. Our order arrived pretty fast and we both dug in. "Fries are literally the best food ever!" I smiled, loading my mouth with another fry, "Actually pizza is pretty good too..." "And pasta." Monty pointed out. "Food is just great in general! I mean it's always there for you. When everyone else leaves you, what is there left? Food." I laughed lightly. "Good point." Monty laughed, causing me to smile. Hearing his laugh or seeing him smile made me happy and me being the reason for him laughing or smiling made it even better. "How did we end up here?" I blurted out. "I drove us here..." Monty looked at me confused, laughing once again. "No, not here." I giggled, rolling my eyes, "I meant us, like how did we get to this point." "We got drunk." Monty pointed out, sipping his milkshake. "True, do you think you would've still asked me on a date if everything at Bryce's didn't happen?" I asked, finishing off my last few fries. "Yeah it would've just taken me longer to grow the balls to do it." Monty laughed, "Surprisingly, I'm not exactly the 'confident guy' that I act I am in school. I'll be honest to you, I was shitting myself about asking you on this date. I mean I have a 'bad reputation' and as you said you never go for guys like me." "Oh my...you remembered that." I groaned and he nodded. "I'll also be honest with you, I only said that because I was tipsy and anyway peoples reputations don't always live up to their true characters. You don't seem like a bad guy to me. You seem like a genuinely nice guy who has a 'slightly' messed up home life and yet you still find a way to put a front on and act as if everything is okay, the moment you step outside. I inspire to have the strength and courage that you do." I smiled, looking into his deep brown eyes. "You really see me like that?" He smiled, reaching his hands over the table and placing them on top of mine. "Of course." I smiled and we both stared into each others eyes for a few seconds.
"Right we should probably be heading back, Scott will kill me if I don't get you back soon." He laughed, grabbing his wallet and pulling out some money. "Let me pay." I grabbed my bag, pulling out my purse. "My treat." He smiled, putting the money on the table. "You are so sweet." I smiled as we headed out of the diner and he drove me home.
