Lachlan's P.O.VThings changed a lot when I hit 10th grade.
I was a part of the boys rugby team and girls were all over me.
Seriously, who knew being a part of the rugby team would make me insanely popular and have most girls want to be with me?
I worked my ass off at practice, joked around with the guys in the change room and flirted with the girls. At home, I did my homework and played video games with Mitch.
I never really noticed as much but days passed since I've talked to Angelica.
Which is understandable... right? I mean, I was a busy guy. I couldn't be attached to the hip to her and she had to understand that.
RIIIIINGGGGGGG
The school bell to start lunch rang. Everyone practically ran out of their classes, desperate to get out. I confidently walked, my head high.
That's when I saw Angelica by her locker. The last time I talked to her... I think 2 weeks and 3 days ago...
Anyways, she had been upset . Something about her parents I think. I don't really remember.
But as I looked at her at her locker now... her eyes were rimmed red. Her skin was extremely pale and her dark brown hair looked unkept.
I stopped behind her and tapped her on her shoulder.
"Angelica?"
I said. She slowly turned around to look at me. Her dark bluish-brown eyes looked at me with anger.
"Lachlan, nice to know you still exist."
Angelica told me. I sighed, a deep sigh. Not this again.
"I was wondering why you looked so sad but if you're going to be rude, then just forget I ever asked."
Angelica scolded at my response just as Flavia came up to Angelica.
"Angelica, sorry I'm late. My teacher wanted to speak to me-"
Flavia stopped mid-sentence to look at me. Even her expression turned grey.
"Look who decided to show up."
Flavia put her hands on her hips. Seriously, what the fuck? Why was I getting ganged up on?
"Oh, get over yourselves. I wanted to see how Angelica was doing. You guys don't need to act like-"
But I got cut off by Flavia.
"Excuse me, Mr. I'm-too-good-for-anyone but you haven't even looked at Angelica in 2 weeks! You don't get to ask how she's doing now."
Flavia told me. Angelica looked tired.
"Flavia, it's whatever. Can we please just go?"
Angelica pleaded. Her voice now worried me. Angelica sounded weak... Strong, collected Angelica sounded weak.
"I- Angelica..."
My voice softened, ignoring Flavia. Flavia took Angelica's hand.
"A, let's go."
Flavia tugged Angelica lightly. Her eyes were wide, looking like she was going to cry.
"Fine, you really want to know?"
"Angelica, c'mon. Don't tell him."
Angelica ignored Flavia, looking at me in my eye.
"I told you two weeks ago that things were getting even worse at my house. My parents are divorcing now."
