The drive up to the Yayla was under 2 hours but as closer he got as much his nerves played him. He opened the sunroof and windows, crawling up the road to the Yayla the temperature had dropped pleasantly, the air was smelling like needlewood and soil. A mild breeze was blowing in his face. Lunchtime was almost over, he stopped at one of the many motels on the road, got a room for a shower and sat on the terrace for lunch and coffee. God this place was heavenly, he could almost feel Selin's presence everywhere, imagining how she had inhaled this air and glanced smilingly at the explosion of green in her surroundings.
He left after he bought a detailed map of the area, so there where more than one lake and they weren't really small. Finding the house wasn't going to be too easy.
He searched all afternoon, driving and walking up all ihabited shores, and then the early sunset made it almost impossible. His cheerful mood had shifted for hours now, he was not going to return without seeing her, come what may he thought.
As he drove one of the roads back he discovered a small hidden driveway he must had overlooked the first time. It led with several turns to a small house that was softly lit, smoke coming from it's chimney. He knew at the sight of the house, this was it!
He parked the car in front of the entrance, he must have been heard, he saw that someone was moving from window to window to get a sight on the intruder. He thought smilingly, i hope she is only armed with a t-ruler again and not a rifle.
He got out of the car keeping the engine and light powered, stepping in front of his lights so she could see him clearly, what obviously had worked because the shadow behind the curtain stepped abruptly aback.
Okay, nobody said it's going to be easy. Stopping the engine he stepped to the door.
„Selin, Selin, it's me. Please open the door... I know you are here, I've seen your shadow through the curtain. Please. Let me in, you can continue to ignore me then. I'm looking for you all day, there is no stone I haven't turned at this Yayla and I can barely stand anymore, please! You don''t think that I'm just going to return to Istanbul when you don't open, are you?"
Nothing from inside.
„Okay, this porch looks really cosy, so I'll sit here, if only I had tea!? You know, I have your mom's börek in the car, I would trade for a mug of tea!?"
Selin had moved between the two windows, sitting on the ground. He's here, Demir is here! Or isn't he, maybe my mind is making it up?
„Selin! It is kinda getting cold out here, you may throw a blanket out? I would prefer coming in though."
No, he seems really here! She had cried throught the bus ride, trying to fix her eyes with a load of concealer at the last stop before arriving home and had managed to appear normal till she left for the Yayla. Arriving at the Yayla cabin all here sorrows fro the time when she had to move out of the city because she was the reason for the accident of Ediz came back in waves. No her tears had dried and slowly anger had settled. So this ass of a man Demir had bought himself into Artemim to get back with Eylül!!! She had swallowed several times anger tears through he day, and now HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO COME TO THE YAYLA HOUSE where her safe space should be. What did he want, absolution? She felt bitterness and anger rising enough that she walked to the door with two steps ripping the door open in one move! The sudden sound made Demir jump up from his seat!
„Are you tyring to play cute? You are not welcome here, we have nothing to speak about. There were things you needed to tell me but someone else did already, we're done! So now leave, immediately!"
