Happy
/ˈhapē/
adjective
1. Feeling or showing pleasure or contentment.
There were so many different reasons as to why Katsuki didn't want to go to school. Reason number one; sleep. He needed more sleep. Every damn night he had been sneaking out of his house at ungodly hours just so that he could go back to that place in the forest and not once had he seen the boy from before. He didn't particularly expect the other to be there, especially not at three in the morning, Katsuki just needed to see him again. He needed to ask him about that day. What had he been thinking? Why was he there of all places?
Reason two; who the fuck likes school. From the smelly, annoying kids to the wheat-based foods that the school shoved into kids on a nearly regular basis, made the place an actual hell hole.
The final, and most important reason; it was his first day. He was supposed to be over the first day fear that kindergartners experienced but here he was, burrowed under his blankets as he ignored the vibrating of his phone's alarm. If he put it off long enough, his Dad would come up and gently shake him awake and give a feeble attempt at signing something to do with school. No matter how many times Katsuki told him that he could read lips perfectly fine, his Dad insisted on learning sign language.
With a growl, he flung himself angrily out of bed. He didn't want to leave the warmth and comfort of his thick, navy green comforter but he had to, for the sake of knowledge. The thought of going to school willingly made him want to throw up but he'd save that for when the teachers attempted to make him feel like he was special, maybe his vomit would make them leave him alone.
With annoyed movements, Katsuki quickly threw together a simple outfit; a simple white t-shirt, ripped black skinny jeans, and a pair of black combat boots that he wore with practically every outfit he had. After a quick glance at the clock, he grabbed his bag and slung it over his shoulder, only leaving his room after he'd grabbed an orange and black hat which he placed backward on his head. He wasn't in the most classy outfit but that was to be expected, if anyone asked him to dress nicely for the first day of school he'd probably laugh in their face. No, scratch that, he'd definitely laugh in their face.
When he made it down the steps, he was greeted with the smell of toast. At the smell, his stomach rumbled, making him roll his eyes as he entered the kitchen.
"Morning," he grumbled, immediately b-lining for the plate of toast sitting on the counter. As soon as he reached out to grab a slice, his hand was smacked away. "What the fuck was that for, you old hag," Katsuki growled, shaking the stinging feeling out of his hand.
When the hag spoke, he read her lips, "We're going to talk before you eat anything you little brat." Even not hearing her voice, Bakugou could tell by her glaring facial expression that she was practically shouting at him.
"Like hell, give me my damn breakfast or I'm leaving without it," he threatened, his voice rising in volume.
With a smug expression, his Mom pushed the plate back and crossed her arms. "No breakfast for you then, ungrateful brat. Learn to respect me and you'll get your breakfast." In return, Bakugou scoffed and spun on his heel, already storming out of the room before he could read whatever other threats his Mother threw at him.
His Dad waited for him at the door, all dressed in his work clothes with a timid smile on his face. When Katsuki approached him, an eyebrow raised, the older man held out an apple. He should have expected this from his Dad; Katsuki couldn't even count the number of times his Dad had discretely backed him up. Whether it be his Mom's hot temper or his own explosive temper, Masaru Bakugou was always right there to help his Son. While Katsuki tried to hate him for it, he knew that it wasn't because he was deaf - it was because his Dad really did care for him. He couldn't fault him for that.
