Confusion

/kənˈfyo͞oZHən/

noun
1.The state of being bewildered or unclear in one's mind about something.

“So,” Kirishima said, his eyes flashing over to Bakugou as they walked, “You’re new here right? Where did you come from?”

For a moment Katsuki debated on answering his little tag-along that he’d tried to get rid of countless times. With a shrug, he decided to humor the idiot, “The Shizuoka Prefecture. Nothing crazy.”

Kirishima raised an eyebrow, “All the way from there? Why did you move so far?”

Groaning, Katsuki placed his hands behind his head and looked up at the sky, the brightness of the early morning sun nearly blinding him. “My Dad got a job offer here and for the love of god stop asking so many questions you nosy bastard.” Kirishima voiced his apology quickly before falling silent. Not for long though, because soon enough Kirishima turned and looked at him with wide eyes.

"Hey, why didn't you say something last night," the other said suddenly, his head slightly tipped to the side like he was a damn dog.

Katsuki would have rolled his eyes or said something cocky to the question if his brain could even think of something to say. It was like the question wiped his brain clean. He had no proper reason for hiding away and sleeping behind a tree so how the hell was he supposed to answer that? Well, he didn't. Instead he groaned and pushed the palm of his hand into the others face.

"I told you to stop asking questions, idiot," he pointed out, earning himself an apologetic smile from the now retreating red-head.

"Sorry, sorry," Kirishima said, holding his hands out in mock surrender. "I was just surprised when I saw you on my way home last night. I thought about waking you but- well- I favor life."

Katsuki snickered at the statement. It was funny to think someone could be scared of him even while he was sleeping. It was quite a feat on his part if he did say so himself.

The two fell into a comfortable silence. Well, Kirishima did, to Katsuki everything was always silent but by the way Kirishima walked next to him, a small smile turning up the corners of his lips, Katsuki could tell that the other was perfectly content. In all honesty, Katsuki was content as well. The wind that blew past them was warm and even if he wouldn't admit it, Katsuki kind of enjoyed finally having some company, even if it was this loud-mouthed idiot.

They walked, and rested, then walked some more. The cycle went on for hours as both boys lost track of time. By the time they even thought to check what time it was, school had already let out and sent the students home. Katsuki knew he had at least a billion different threat messages from his Mother but he didn't even bother to check his phone. He didn't feel like dealing with her at the moment.

Kirishima had mentioned that he normally stayed out late so his parents wouldn't be too worried, as long as he came home before dinner. Lucky him, with his understanding parents. God, what he wouldn't give for a Mom that was a little less nosey.

When Kirishima asked about Katsuki's own parents, he simply just shrugged. "It'll be fine. I was gonna get yelled at for skipping school anyway."

Kirishima paled at the thought, "Oh yeah, I forgot we did that."

"How the hell do you forget you fucking skipped school," Katsuki shouted at him, resisting the urge to smack some of the stupid out of his obviously pea-sized brain.

"I don't know! I guess I kinda just got caught up in the moment. It was like we were spies sneaking through an enemy base or something!"

Katsuki stared at him for a moment before shaking his head, "You're an idiot."

"Yeah," Kirishima agreed, "At least I'm not mean though." A grin unfolded on the others face and he reached out to punch Katsuki on the shoulder despite the death glare the blonde was giving him. It was almost like he had a death wish.

---

Needless to say, when Bakugou finally got home he was definitely glad he couldn't hear even the loudest screams. His Mother was beyond fuming. Surprisingly, he didn't blame her. He'd done a number of things on her "No, no" list throughout the day. He'd skipped school, ignored her texts, and stayed out past curfew - hell, if he didn't know any better he'd day it was a new record.

Katsuki lost track of how long his Mom screamed at him while his Dad stood nervously in the background - about five minutes into her ranting he'd zoned out and found himself staring at a particularly interesting groove in the wall. It wasn't until she calmed down that she ordered him up to his room for the night.

He took the order gladly and rushed up the steps, his feet moving him up the stairs so fast that even a professional athlete would be impressed. As soon as he crossed the threshold to his room and closed the door behind him, he let out a relieved breath. It was like a weight slipped off his shoulders as he kicked off his shoes and flopped face first onto his bed.

It took him no less than three minutes to start drifting off to Dreamland. It was to be expected seeing as sleeping on the forest floor isn't exactly what you'd call "beauty rest". Such sweet release was not to be reveled in though, because just as his consciousness began to slip away his phone vibrated in his pocket and nearly sent him on to the next life.

Groaning in annoyance, Bakugou angrily yanked his phone from his pocket. He half expected to see his Mother's name stretched across the screen but was surprised to see someone much different from his demon of a mother.

Eijirou Kirishima was typed out in precise and neat little letters, followed by the message he'd sent. Katsuki clicked on the message and read the text, a scowl on his face the whole time.

Yo. Did your parents bury you?

He rolled his eyes. He was beginning to think if he talked to this dude any longer, his eyes would end up rolling right out of his damn head.

Tch, they wish. What about yours, Katsuki texted back, his fingers flying across the on-screen keyboard. It took the other only a few minutes to reply back, but in that time Bakugou stared at his screen as if he was waiting for the most important message of his life.

When the message finally appeared, he read over it quickly. Oh wow you do care mr grumpy. I think my mom's were kinda mad but they aren't gonna kill me or anything.

After reading over the message a few times, Katsuki finally understood what confused him the most about the sentence. Mom's. Well, Katsuki hadn't expected that, not that he cared in the slightest though. The topic of homosexuality was way beyond his level of interest.

Lucky you. That was the last text Katsuki sent before he tossed his phone onto the nightstand and pressed his face onto the fluffy white pillow that seemed to call his name in such an enticing tone. He didn't even bother with changing, it was too much energy. As he drifted off to sleep, his eyes stared at the small K scribbled onto the sleeve of his borrowed jacket, the tiniest of smile on his face.
