Thrill
/THril/
noun
1.a sudden feeling of excitement and pleasure.
It was no short walk from the front doors to his classroom but it did give him time to survey the hellhole he was meant to stay in. Students clumped together, taking up much more space than necessary. As he walked, he caught glimpses of peoples conversations, “So and so is dating so and so”, “Did you hear about” blah blah blah. All of it was just meaningless bullshit that he could give two less shits about in the end. He weaved his way through the sweaty, cologne smelling boys and the vain girls who tried so hard with their push-up bras and skin-tight jeans, glaring at each and every person who even dared to make eye contact with him.
His trek to class seemed to be going pretty well, no one talked to him, no one stopped him, no one really even acknowledged his existence, to be honest. Everything was going according to plan up until the point he felt a hand grab the hood of his borrowed jacket and pull him to the side in a proper movie-like style. When he stumbled back onto the tiled floor of the bathroom, Katsuki knew he was a second away from leaving someone with a broken nose. The only thing that stopped him though was the laughing form of the red-haired boy he couldn’t seem to get rid of.
Glaring down at him with as much anger that he could muster, Katsuki spoke, “Do you think you’re funny? You’re lucky I didn’t kill you just now.”
Kirishima only waved him off, “It’s your fault dude, I said your name like three times. What are you, deaf?”
With a scoff and a rough smack on the back of the head, Katsuki bit down a defensive retort, “You really are an idiot. What the hell did you even pull me in here for? Were you looking for a fight or something?” He knew that wasn’t the case. Just by looking at this puppy dog eyed idiot, you could tell he’d never go looking for a fight. It was like suspecting a puppy of being a serial killer. You just couldn’t without sounding ridiculous.
“C’mon Baku, you haven’t forgotten our deal have you?”
With a raised eyebrow, Katsuki crossed his arms and leaned against the bathroom wall, “Okay, one, I don’t know what the fuck you just called me but don’t do it again, and two, you may need to jog my memory ‘cause I don’t remember making any deal.”
At that, Kirishima sighed and jumped into his explanation. “Oh c’mon, I can’t believe you don’t remem- okay, okay. You agreed that I could show you around school today. Ya know, when we were walking home?” Katsuki groaned. So that was what he’d agreed to. He guessed it could be worse but the thought of spending most of the day in this already nerve-racking school with this over-enthusiastic annoyance made him want to shrivel up and disappear out of reality itself. He had never went back on his word though, and he wasn’t about to start now.
“Well, then why the hell did you drag me into a bathroom,” he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, his eyes not leaving the redhead. He felt like if he even looked away for a second he’d miss something the boy was saying.
A wide grin spread across the boy’s and Katsuki could tell he was snickered by the way his shoulders bounced. “Whoever said we actually had to go on a tour of the school?”
“Then why the hell am I-.” It clicked in an instance. In all honesty, Katsuki was surprised. Kirishima seemed like the type of kid to go to class even if he was dying. “So you pulled me to the side to tell me we’re going to skip school? Do I look like the type of kid who would do that?”
For a moment, Kirishima looked over him, his eyes surveying him like he was a statue in a museum. “To be honest, yeah.”
Katsuki nodded, “Yeah, you’re right. So what the hell is your plan.”
“Well, I sorta just figured we’d walk through the door.”
Katsuki gave the other an incredulous look. There was no way in hell they would get out of the school with a plan like that.
---
It worked. For the love of god it worked. The two boys had waited until the bell rang before making their way out into the hallway and speed walking towards the nearest exit. From any other point of view, it may have seemed like the most nonexciting moment in history but neither boy could help the fact that their hearts were beating like a drum in their chests. It was like the feeling you got when you were playing hide-and-seek and the seeker was inches away from your hiding spot - you didn’t know if you were going to get caught or not. That’s exactly how it had been. Katsuki had no clue if one of the spider-like teachers would round the corner and sink their teeth into both of them.
That didn’t happen though. Instead, both boy’s crossed through the exit’s threshold unbothered and were now resting in the shade of a tree far from the haunting stench of the school. Katsuki lay sprawled out across the cool grass while Kirishima sat crisscrossed next to him.
“That was easier than I expected,” Kirishima said with a laugh.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, “Yeah, no thanks to you. You’re just lucky that a teacher didn’t come lurking around the corner.”
“Dude, you really don’t know how to compliment people, do you,” Kirishima pouted, looking at the blonde who shook his head in response. Under no circumstances would he give this idiot a compliment for sneaking them out of the school, if he did that it would probably open some type of gate for the redhead that would convince him the Katsuki gave a shit. Which he most certainly did not.
That both sat in silence for a moment, neither saying anything. Katsuki watched the leaves of the tree that towered above him sway with every breath of wind that washed by them while Kirishima simply surveyed the area around them. Katsuki was painfully aware when the other's eyes came to rest on him. It was like a sixth sense Katsuki had developed over the years. If someone was looking at him, he just knew.
That's what Kirishima was doing just at that moment. His fire-red eyes burned holes in the side of Katsuki's face and it took all that he had not to snap at the teen.
"Hey, Bakugou," the other said, his lips moving slowly. Katsuki turned to him, an eyebrow lifted in question.
For a moment Kirishima looked as if he was about to ask something but the way his eyes flickered down to the ground and back up again told Katsuki that the other had changed his mind.
"Where is it you want to go, we can't just sit here."
Katsuki sat up, his lips pressing together, "And why can't we?"
"Well," Kirishima stammered, looking for something to say. "I still owe you some type of tour."
Katsuki had to hold back a laugh. This idiot really did have a knack for making up excuses, he had to give him that. "You know what, fine. I'll bite. Take me on this fucking tour so I can get rid of you as soon as possible." A grin blossomed on the others face as he flew to his feet, already pulling Katsuki up before he could protest and snap that he could do it himself. Soon he was upright and chasing after the redhead who had pulled him into this mess, no clue what the day had in store for him.
