I kind of fell out of love with writing this, especially as I wrote this in the height of the Undertale hype when I was still obsessed with the game and yet was disheartened when this didn't seem to get much attention.
I also knew what I wanted to write more but I couldn't work out how to get from one point to another.
For my own conscience I wanted to write down what I had in my mind for the end of this book and the sequel that I had planned, as I want to write a proper book and need these thoughts out of my head.
And partly because I got annoyed when Wattpad stories I had invested in never finished or have any closure. If you don't want spoilers incase I really do write it stop reading here, and if I've uploaded a new chapter just skip this.
I switch between calling frisk they/them and she/her. Partly because I saw them as female when I first played the game.
ENDING
I intend that the orb found on the pillar would be a device in which Frisk could transfer their soul through it, splitting it in two and sharing with Asriel.
Sans and Frisk would make their way to the castle, sans would help Asgore understand what's going on and why he can't kill the human. (possibly Asgore still didn't understand and started a fight) eventually being interrupted by Flowey. The true pacifist ending occurs, but instead of Asriel fading away Frisk spares part of their soul to save him, he appears to age to match Frisk as she has an older soul.
On the way to leaving the exit becomes a portal back to Frisks natural time line, she plans to take Asriel with her, but then realises that sans (+ Asgore?) would be left behind alone, and she did not know if time could handle two sans' at once so he couldn't take them with them.
She then risks her entire lifetime to attempt resetting as she walks through the portal. Not knowing if resetting would trap her in this second time line or if she would walk through the portal and leave everything as it is.
As she leaves she tells Sans if she succeeds to really give the new her a chance, that there is good in them somewhere and somehow they will eventually make the right choice, guide them if you can.
She walks through and ends up in her own timeline, she is at first overjoyed, she has returned on her birthday celebration and people though worried that she had been missing were relieved to have her back. Everyone is also very confused but happy that Asriel is home, and his parents cry. Although Toriel and Asgore are still divorced and are open about it they still plan a 'get away' to reconnect with their son.
Frisk has no idea if her plan worked and if the other world has been reset. She has completed her mission and has no threat to be returned to that place again. But feels as though in her dreams she can still hear the other sans talking to her.
THE SEQUEL
the set up for the sequel was to be back in the timeline Frisk left behind and mostly from the point of view of sans as he deals with the new frisk.
The new frisk has never achieved the true ending. The have attempted neutral, and did succeed in killing no one the first time around, but frustrated that they could never complete it has ended in a spiral of genocide. The Frisk from the last book has been working with her sans to find ways to connect the time lines and has created a better link, in her dreams she can now communicate with sans in his workplace or in the death screen like in After Tale the original (find the dub on YouTube it's good)
I never finished my idea for this completely, but I wanted somehow for older frisk to be able to communicate with the new frisk to get them to change their ways.
Older Frisk now learns that part of the problem in the possession of chara, as they never experienced this.
Older Frisk the gets possessed by Chara because then Chara can also cause permanent genocide in the finished timeline. But Older Frisk has greater memories of the love that Chara's old family provides and can now access Charas memories in order to persuade them to stop (which is like the cringy stronger than you parody - chara vs frisk - that I posted on my YouTube years ago)Again like I said my ideas weren't fully formed but it did end with the new frisk learning that all she had to do was make friends and managed to set everyone free.
I also hadn't decided if Older frisk could somehow help new Frisk save Asriel now in this instance or if I should leave if was a cliff hanger that these two stories with perpetually happen over and over and over again.
