Chapter 4

I pulled away first, Larath opened her eyes. Her blue eyes locked with mine. “Okay.....” I smiled.

Larath bit her lip. “Did we just do that?” She asked.

“Either that or I'm dreaming.” I said, astonished.

“We should get back and see if Seth is ok.” She said.

“Yeah and I still need to talk to Jake.” I stood up.

“Here's your jacket.” She held out the leather jacket.

“Naa, it's ok just keep it for now.” I smiled.

“See you back at the house then?” She looked at me.

“Yeah, I shouldn't be too long.” I kissed her on the cheek and turned round.

“See ya later then, stupid.” She giggled and smiled at me.

I smiled back and ran to Jake's house. I knocked on the door. Jacob answered. “Yes?” He asked.

“I need to talk to you.” I said.

“Come in!” He sighed.

We walked into the kitchen. “I'm guessing this is about Larath.” Jacob looked at me.

“Actually, no.” I sat down at the table.

“No? What is it then?” Jacob handed me a cup of tea.

“Why does your old pack want you to join again?” I asked.

“How did I not see that coming?” Jacob laughed.

“Well?” I asked expectingly.

“Em.... it's hard to explain.” Jacob said.

“I can keep up.” I laugh.

“It's a long story.” Jacob said doubtingly.

“I have plenty of time.” I sat back in my chair.

“You really want me to tell you, don't you?” Jacob sighed.

“Yep,” I laughed.

“Look, it's a numbers thing ok?” Jacob was trying to avoid answering.

“What d'y mean?” I tilted my head.

“Now that Jaspers in power, he wants to make sure he doesn't have a threat.” He explained.

I nodded at him. “YOU being the threat?”

“Yea. He wants to makes sure we can't raid him, without me to give you their strengths and weaknesses he’ll be unstoppable.”

“Oh, right I get it now. You can't go back with them!” I was worried.

“Don't worry, I'm not going to!” He seemed pretty convincing.

When I got back to my house it was late. I walked up to the door and Larath swung it open before I could open it myself. “Hellooooo.” I smiled.

“Hiya.” She leaned over and kissed me.

“Woah, someone's in a good mood!” I said jokingly. “Where's Seth?”

“Upstairs, he's still pretty upset.” She said with a shrug.

“Is he asleep?” I asked.

“I don't think so, now come inside, it's cold.” She took my hand and led me inside.

I pushed the door and closed it behind me. “Here's your jacket.” She offered me my jacket.

“I said keep it for a bit.” I smiled.
