flashback to 8 months ago*

"Why!" she exclaimed with tears wallowing in her eyes.
He had his hands clasping her wrists pinning them above her head. he knew that if he looked at her that he would break apart.
"answer me dammit!" she shouted as waterfalls of pain rushed down her makeup stained cheeks.
"I-...I can't be around you anymore." he said breaking his eye contact with the floor and looking straight at her glimmering crisp y/e/c eyes.
Only sound noticeable was her breathing increasing and cries escaping her swollen pink lips, covered in her salty tears.
"what did I do wrong?" she asked him with a crack of pain in her voice as those painful words fell out of her mouth.
"I am leaving to California and the thought of me not seeing you anymore will ruin me, I can't do long distance friendship thing either because it's not going to be the same. What if one night I need you and you are not going to be there?" he said with no expression.
"we could faceti-"
"no! we fucking can't" he said cutting her off getting up from her and walking a few feet in front of himself.
"yes we can" she said sitting up from the floor to look at him.
"I want to be able to see my best friend and be with her whenever I want to and need to be"
"I will come visit you bubby" she reassured him with a small smile.
"I can't be friends with you anymore. I don't want to see you anymore. it will just hurt too much" he said while walking towards the door.
Her face filled with nothing but confusion and disbelief in what she was hearing.
"Keep all my shit that is here, I don't want it. thank you for the memories, and I wish I didn't have to go but it sucks to suck am I right?" he said with a fake laugh at the end as he opened up her front door, looking at her one second and shutting it the next.
"NO! Ethan! No.." she said screaming repeatedly not believed in what had just happened in her living room.
she lost her best and only friend.
