Chapter 1

Another beautiful day in Emerald Bay, thought Elisa. It had been three months since she had moved here, three lonely months, and today it was finally her chance to change that.

She looked at herself in the full length mirror, for the fifth time that morning; her long, brunette hair shimmered in the sunlight, her beautiful, blue eyes were outlined, subtly of course, in mascara, she stroked her designer jacket- brown Italian leather and her skinny jeans looked skinnier by the minute.

She tapped her black heel impatiently on the floor, in just one hour; she would be in class at Jameson High School. With new people, people that didn't know her, people that she could fit in with....

"Elisa we're leaving honey!” her mom yelled up the stairs, sounding panicked. Only Elisa knew why, why her mom sounded on edge, it was fear, fear that only she shared. Jordan, her younger sister, rushed towards the stairs. She was only 8, she didn't know anything, and she was safe- for now.

Sighing, Elisa grabbed her bag, switched off the light, and walked to her car. Yes- her car! She was old enough to drive in America. The car it's self was pretty beautiful. She had no idea what model it was, but Elisa was certain it was a porshe. It was sleek looking, black and amazing.

Driving to the school, she thought about her past, in England, her normal life before. Before she realized she had power, before she knew that witches existed. When vampires only appearing in book, where the Supernatural was the name of a T.V show. Where the only thing she worried about was school and homework.

But that past was behind her now. She was a Witch. The word she never said out loud, to terrified of the catastrophe it could cause. Witch.

She sensed eyes on her the second she got out of the car. It would have been unknown to a human, that five people, 100 yards away, were completely focused on her. Not to a witch, a witch would know. Five people wasn't something to worry about, five people all stood together, maybe more of a worry. They're probably just curious, she told herself, nothing to worry about.

Elisa was used to worrying, maybe she just needed to relax. She walked towards the entrance of the main building. As she reached for the door, a masculine hand beat her to it. In that instance, where her hand touched his, she felt a surge of power. Power that turned into darkness as she fainted clean away....

She woke up, but was not confused or disorientated, she knew what had happened. Another witch, a powerful one, more powerful than her, had connected with her. Not expecting it, Elisa had fainted. Great, what an impression to make on her first day. It was only then, she realized someone was sat in a chair next to her. A boy. A pretty hot one.

"Hey, are you OK?” he asked. Elisa looked up. The boy had blond, tousled hair. The sun shone down on it and made it look even more spectacular. His eyes were the colour of the sky, unusual. They were deep and sorrowful, as if the boy had been through a lot in his life. He wore leather too, but black. A white shirt, contrasting against his tanned skin. And jeans.

When Elisa just stared, concern flashed across his beautiful eyes, as they sparkled even more.

"How many fingers am I holding up?” the boy asked, holding up 3 fingers.

"Ermm...3, I fainted, I didn't bang my head.” Elisa replied.

"Yeah, I know. Just wanted to see your reaction. I'm Michael, by the way. The guy that caught you.", '' said ‘Michael’, smiling.

The witch, thought Elisa. She sighed. So much for a fresh start. She had already embarrassed herself in front of half the school, in front of a hot guy, who was also a witch. Great.
