Philly turned just in time, swinging the weapon at a charging officer, even going as far to jam the hook into the crook of his neck and honestly, they aren't up for the look. They charged at an officer, doing the same and looked around. In a hurry just to get the hell out of there, they ran up the stairs. Once they did, they were met with two officers.
Philly once again swung the Sky-Hook at them, killing them upon impact and ran. A few hours earlier, if Ralph and Erin told the brunette that this is what was going to happen, they would probably awkwardly laugh at the statement. But here we are now. The False Shepherd is running away from police officers just to save a girl in a tower.
They turned, doing the same actions as before, earning a gun, and passed crates with monkeys on them and, a big yikes, doesn't look good. Philly picked up another Voxophone, playing the recorded message in it. Instantly, they recognized the voice. Mister Jeremiah fucking Fink himself. They didn't care for what he was saying, but he mentioned the name 'Comstock' which they've seen a lot. Interesting.
Once they got on a ship, they threw a green possession at the machine in front of them, knowing if they got in front of it, they'd be dead. Philly jumped down, killing most enemies that the robot didn't, and got the hell out of there. All that mattered was escaping alive and find Darwin...thats her name, right?
Philly ran down a flight of stairs, nearly tripping over them and their own feet, before barreling for cover. A bullet scraped past their arm but other than that, they were fine. They fired at the enemies, ducking for cover every few minutes. If this is what someone has to due to rescue someone from a tower, it better be worth it.
After a few minutes of shooting at enemies, they made their escape. Running past a shooting robot was one of many mistakes, but they did it. Philly ran through an open gate, dodging a man who was aimed toward them and gave a quick shot to the brain. Doing the same to another guy before running off. Honestly, murder is the least of Philly's issues.
Running down the road, they found themselves in front of a gate. The door itself is warm and the atmosphere is more humid than before. "It's getting hot... What's going on?" Philly mutters to themselves, before pushing the door open and stared with wide eyes. A man, covered in fire, lava, or anything of the mix, rose from a box-like area, what it was Philly had no idea.
"BURN IN THE NAME OF OUR PROPHET!" Yelled the guy, the heat flames exploding as Philly gripped their gun.
"Ah, great," They hissed, before shooting at the bitch who threw a Fireball toward them, resulting in them rolling behind a food wagon. They turn the corner, firing shots at the enemy until he fell limp. Something was beside the corpse, intriguing Philly enough to cautiously walk over to it and pick it up.
Another Vigor. "'Devils Kiss'." Philly huffed, "Well, you only live once." They took the cap of the vigor off, before taking a sip of it. Philly turned their gaze to their hand, dropping the bottle immediately as their hands caught on fire, startling them. That was, however, just a vision. In a blink of an eye, their hands returned to normal. Philly shook their head, gripping onto their gun. "Whew... That wasn't no sample."
Philly made their way down the path, throwing a spirit at the firing robot and watched, helping slightly when it needed, before throwing a Flame Grenade at it. Honest to god, this power makes them fear things. They pass all the bodies and through the gate, making their way up the stairs and in front of a restaurant, or something. 'The Blue Ribbon,' A pig as the mascot, or main dish. They only mumbled and made their way through the double doors.
Music fills their ears. It's calming, coming from what they dealt with not even 5 minutes before entering the restaurant. At the end of the hall, Philly reads the words pasted into the wall. 'THE RISE OF COLUMBIA!' The words made Philly's eyebrows crease, not bothering with anything else, and turning to their right and into the main room, only to pause at the sight of Ralph and Erin once again.
Ralph was hunched over the bar, cleaning it to perfection while Erin was in front of a doorway, holding a pan with some juice on it. Philly turned to look at them separately, their eyebrows pinched together. They've seen these two at least 3 times today, what the actual hell is going on?
Ralph looked up, hearing their footsteps. "We have company," he simply said, catching Erin's attention.
"We do indeed," She responded, looking at the brunette before looking away.
Philly glared at the two. "Why are you following me?" They huffed out.
"We were already here," Erin retorted, earning a scowl from them.
"Why are you following us?" Ralph had his attention turned to the bar, but if anything, Philly knew better than to know that he'd shoot a playful glare.
"I-" They only sighed, not having the energy or anything to respond, not like they'd have anything better to say.
"Aperitif?" Erin suggested, looking at Ralph, then at Philly, with an amused smirk. Philly walked over, carefully looking at the drink on her plate. Once they looked up at her, their eyebrows furrowed, Erin gave a friendly smile. Philly picked up the glass, softly stirring it before taking a sample of it.
Instantly, a golden hue of nearly shattered glass filled their vision, causing Philly to stumble back as Erin raised an eyebrow. "Ooh..." They groaned, holding their head before looking up at Erin. "What was that?" They asked, their eyebrows pinching down.
Erin tilted her head, stepping aside. "Hmm. Surprising."
"Surprising that it worked?" Ralph looked at her with an eyebrow raised.
"Surprising that it didn't kill them," She stated nonchalantly. Philly glared at her, confused on why she was so calm about it. Why are they so calm about that?!
Ralph turned to look at Erin, a smirk pulled to his face. "But a magnetic-repulsive field around one's body can come in handy," He stated.
"If it doesn't kill you," Erin commented.
Ralph simply smiled, closing his eyes. "A fair point."
Philly simply sighed, walking past the two and into the kitchen area. Un-fucking-believable. Those two are so weird, where do you go where you see the same people that brought you to the weirdest and most racist place on earth more than once. It's fucking weird.
