The Aftermath (A hollow knight fanfiction)

(Chapter Teaser) .Comfort.

"Come on hornet, swing your needle harder!"

I breathe heavily and hang my head low, we've been training non-stop for almost an hour. I don't know if I have it in me keep going, I can feel my body almost giving out.

"Mother I c-can't!." I can almost feel tears welling up in my eyes along with my shaky legs, I hate to disappoint her..

"Hornet remember what I tell you.. don't you dare show weakness to the enemy, and there is no time to cry when you're in danger!. Your fear will only make you look more delicious to them!."

My cloak and body are filled with cuts and tears, nothing serious but they hurt. I wanted to go home. bugs lurked and crawled in all dark corners, it was no different from home but the sounds of bugs screeches and hisses were so much louder here.

"Focus!, pull your strength from within you!. I did not raise a maggot did I!?"

Mother wanted me to work on my block counter attack, But it was so hard to block and swing back. Sometimes my needle would even be knocked out of my own hands resulting in my injuries. Mother used to and still says I am a natural but today I just can't. Not after what she told me.
Mother starts again charging at me full speed with her needle raised to slash.

"I'm not going to be able to see you for much longer like we used to.. I need you stay strong if I'm ever gone, keep all your senses keen.. and show no fear to anyone ever."

I pull out my needle and prepared for the impact, when it came I held out my needle horizontally catching it by my blade. I made sure to keep the blade in my grip tight against her crushing strength that threatened to push through and cut me.

"And please... as much as you think he deserves it don't hold a grudge against the pale wyrm, I chose this path when we made the deal.. it was a fair trade.."

'Bullshit.'

I can feel my muscles almost give out, I don't think I could hold this for any longer but I have to!. Her strength was so much that it was enough to push me back slowly against the loose dirt as I struggled to hold my block.

"I gave up my life, consciousness and freedom for you. Only you. don't let my sacrifice burden you because I'm happy I made my choice. I'm happy you're here, though I may be hard on you I want you to remember I always love you despite that.."

'It won't work! It won't be enough!
He's taking you away! I'm not ready to say goodbye! Please not yet! That..that Bastard wyrm!'

My muscles burned and I felt fire in my veins, it happened so quick.
During my crowding thoughts I pulled back then sudden pushed back and swiped back my needle with enough force to send her tumbling back. stunned, with her six legs she stumbled trying to get their footing back.

'BASTARD WYRM!,BASTARD WYRM!! BASTARD WYRM!!!'

My thoughts screamed in my head loudly as I clenched my teeth, They wouldn't shut up and it only pissed me off more.

I took my chance while she was stunned. I ran, leaped into the air and swiped at her, she blocked with her needle,I swiped again harder and she did the same as before. When our needles impacted it made such
delicious and satisfying sounds.

clash! cling!.

Each impact pushed her back further and further, until I let out a loud battle cry.

"HAAAA!!"
It followed with a slash that contained all my strength, just the right amount of strength that I needed.

She had tried to blocked it but she stuttered and She finally tripped over stunned again, with her massive size she had the ground shaking when she hit the floor. She let out a loud pained grunt as she landed on her back.

Perfect.
Before she could get up I dashed down ward towards her, pushing her back down hard by her chest with my foot. I stood on top of her then pulled out my needle.. and pointed the tip straight at her mask. It's finished.

Neither of us spoke, it was so loud with the screeching and hisses of bugs here yet silent,I can only hear my frantic panting in my head.

I can feel her chest under me move up and down in a quick manner as she panted too, my chest did the same as we stared each other down. We were so out of breath neither of us dared to speak until we had caught our breaths. It almost felt like a century had passed until my mother finally spoke and broke the deafening silence.

"That's my girl.. I.. knew you could do it!"

So sorry for the hiatus!, but the finished chapter will be coming soon I've just been more busy lately like i said.
