The Big Bad Wolf

Chapter 7

Apparently everyone got the same feeling about the police that Hyunjin got, so everyone in the pack ended up tagging along. Hyunjin didn't see the big deal since wolves usually travel in packs, but me knowing how strange it must look in the eyes of a human felt enormous stress!

Hopefully they don't run a background check for everyone here because none of them are in the system and that's going to look extremely suspicious! The police knew they didn't have room for everyone at the station so they just questioned me outside with a makeshift interrogation room.

"So your story is that this man saved you from the fire and was hiding you because you saw the assailant and feared you'd be attacked?"

"Yes, I couldn't really see who it was because it was so dark and they were covered up, but I knew they saw me and would probably want to get rid of any witnesses."

"I see, now one of your friends that last saw you said that you all were skinny dipping and she saw that you were dragged underwater and then carried away on some kind of creature."

"Oh really, and what does this creature look like?"

"They said it was black and it looked like some kind of dog."

Of course, that is exactly what happened. But I pretended to doubt them because to normal people that doesn't make sense.

"So what? You just believed it and started a search for giant black dogs? How did that lead you here?"

"I know it's ridiculous, but that's all we had. We're still looking for the perpetrator. Now, what did Mr. Hwang say to you that night?"

I was about to say something but then I caught myself when I noticed something. I didn't know Hyunjin's last name was Hwang, so how did they know? No one told them his name. The police couldn't possibly know his first name because he wasn't in the system and I bet his parents weren't either.

"I-I don't really remember. Now, how did you find this place?"

"Our dogs lead us here."

"What dogs? I don't see any dogs and I would have heard them when you got here."

The police stood there silently which gave me the chills. Hyunjin was standing behind me and I could sense that he was starting to tense up. Something was definitely wrong. I heard someone yell and I turned my head in the direction for just a second and that's when the police officer tried to grab me!

I jumped back and soon I saw that the police officers were attacking the pack! Hyunjin wasted no time in transforming and bit the police officer's head off! I was horrified but I noticed something odd. His eyes were red and he had protruding top canines! Also, the body started to turn to dust until nothing was left!

Shit! He was right! This is a trap! I grabbed the gun from the pile of dust and went around trying to find the rest of the officers. I saw one of them biting Minho who didn't even have time to transform! I aimed the gun at the police officer and shot him in the leg!

He let go of Minho and turned to me. His face was covered in blood which made me shiver. He started charging at me and I waited until he was close enough and then I shot him in the head. Once he fell down dead I rushed over to Minho to check on him.
