The past couple of days have been a mixture of easy and busy. Being Queen comes with many responsibilities. I had to educated about much much MUCH more werewolf history and customs that I had missed out on.
For example, I had to learn the process of how packs were made. There were once 7 packs, but since the motherland, the land of the grey wolves, was attacked so brutally that there was no way it could hope to be restored to what it once was without the humans raising eyebrows to the sudden increase in the wolf population.
So each district was slightly different in certain ways. The climate and location, obviously was one of the differences. There is also a difference of customs and behaviors for each pack which leads to the pack test. At age 14, if you are not an alpha you must participate in an annual trial to see which pack best fits you. They go through a series of tests and get the results of what pack they belong to after 1 day.
That is why the wolves ranking lower than alpha are so many different colors because they come from combination of different places. Apparently the wolves that live in the pack house with us are highest ranking of their kind so they accompany the leader, but there are more of our kind who live around us as subjects.
It made me curious to want to meet the rest of the pack, but I just simply haven't had the proper amount of time to do that yet. I have to assign where the pack assignment trials will take place and when and I have to do the same about the seasonal mate search. The mate search is a ceremony where a bunch of unmated wolves get together in one place in hopes of finding their mate. This takes place four times a year.
I decided to say fuck it and host the mate search in our woods and I would be keeping a watchful eye along with some of my pack members to make sure no fowl play was going on. Hyunjin wasn't so sure about this since he was afraid some young, horny wolves would try to hit on me but I told him I wouldn't be out there all night so it should be fine.
Meanwhile, Hyunjin was seemingly having fun playing on my phone. Apparently he had never had one before so I decided to show it to him and show him how to use it. His adorable reactions to the phone is probably what's kept me sane for the past couple of days.
He liked looking through my pictures more than anything. I would sometimes be pleasantly surprised to find selfies he took when I looked through my pictures sometimes. I asked him if he wanted a phone of his own and he said no because he just wanted to use mine so he could look at pictures of me while I was too busy to spend time with him.
I honestly felt bad. Hyunjin has reassured every night that it wouldn't be this hard later on and that once I was fully educated about werewolf life that it would get much easier. He could attest to it since he used to have to do that. I hoped that it would certainly get easier as time went on because it was honestly physically, emotionally, and mentally draining to have to stay inside while everyone else got to go out.
