"We should do something," Kian suggests, running his hand down my side. I turn my face slightly to look at him.
"Do something?" I ask, trying to get him to clarify.
No matter how much time he spends with me, I never seem to get enough of him. I love just to be able to look at him like I am now.
I can take in his features and see every single inch of him; his face, his eyes, his arms, his body. It's a wonderful feeling. No matter how long we've been together, it could never get old.
I wish I could see him more often.
"Yeah, like a vacation. Just you and me," he replies. He places a kiss on my forehead and keeps his lips there, lingering.
"What about Christopher?" I wonder, my thoughts automatically going to him. I've never spent much time away from my baby boy, and I don't know how I feel about it.
"We can leave him with Audrey, or Paige," he replies, pulling away from me to look at me.
I give him an uneasy look, not sure about how to feel. I would love to vacation with Kian, but I would feel selfish for not having Christopher with me.
"Baby, you need it, deserve it. We need it."
"What do you have in mind?" I ask him, still not too sure.
He closes his eyes for a moment, a smile appearing on his face after a few seconds.
"Let's go skiing," he says, a grin spreading across his face.
"Skiing?" I question. I've never been skiing and would probably not be very good at it.
"Nothing to harsh, but skiing. It would be so much fun. And we can stay in a cozy cabin with a fire, and..." He slowly trails off, pulling me closer to him and wrapping his arms around my bare waist.
His touch elicits goosebumps on my skin, causing be to shove involuntarily. I grin, burying my face against his neck and running my nose along his skin.
"When?" I ask, wrapping my arm behind his back and placing my hand across his shoulder blade.
"Whenever you want to. We can call Audrey and see when she and your dad can take care of Christopher, and then we can plan. Sound good?" He knots his fist in my hair and pulls lightly, getting me to pull my head back. I smile at him, nodding.
The mere thought of spending time away with him gets me excited, and I push my worries about leaving Christopher to the back of my mind. Although it will be my first time away from him for an extended time, it will do both Kian and I some good.

"Hey sweetie! How are you?" Audrey exclaims as soon as I cross the threshold in her house.
"I'm great! How are you?" I return, opening my arms to pull her in for a hug.
When I breathe in, a delicious aroma surrounds me and I'm instantly curious as to what Audrey is cooking.
"I'm doing just fine. Now where's the husband?" She asks, looking over my shoulder. Kian walks up behind me when I look over my shoulder, carrying our child on his shoulders. It honestly scares the shît out of me, but I trust Kian.
Audrey's smile grows at the sight of Christopher, just like any normal person's.
Christopher is quite amazing. More beautiful than I would have ever envisioned my child and perfect in every way. I really appreciate my parents a lot more now, because with the way I felt when Christopher was born and all the moments after was truly indescribable. The amount of love I felt was miles high, and I understand how my parents must have felt about me.
For a brief moment, I long for my mother-my birth mother. I wish that she was here to experience this moment with me.
I push these thoughts to the back of my mind to be dealt with later.
"Look at the handsome boy! How big he's gotten!" Audrey exclaims, reaching her arms towards Christopher as Kian ducks under the doorway and into the house.
"Actually I don't think I've grown that much since the last time I saw you, Audrey," Kian teases, leaning down to allow Audrey to swipe Christopher off of his shoulders.
Audrey shakes her head at his comment, resting Christopher on her hip. Looking at Christopher's face, she replies to Kian, "Not you, silly. But you are still handsome. Where do you think your son got his looks from?"
Kian grins at her, closing the door behind him. "Definitely his beautiful mother." He wraps an arm around my waist and pulls me closer to him.
"Do I hear my daughter?" A man's voice sounds, my dad appearing from the doorway to the stairs only seconds later. I rush towards him and give him a hug, dropping my baby bag next to Kian's feet beforehand.
"Hey, Dad," I say, pulling away from him and smiling.
"How's the family?" He asks, looking from me to Kian and then adoringly to his wife and my son.
"Pretty amazing," I reply.
It's honestly not been very long since I last saw my father and Audrey. They only live about forty-five minutes from Kian and I, so we see them often. I guess we just love to see each other.
"Dinner will be ready within an hour, and Mason should be here with Jackie soon," Audrey announces, allowing my dad to take Christopher in his arms. I smile at them as they exchange loving glances before Audrey pulls my hand and leads me to the kitchen. I look back and grin at Kian as he follows my dad into the living room.

"Hey Audrey?" I say, reaching in her spice cabinet, looking for garlic salt.
"Yes, love?" She replies, adding things to the soup she is making, stirring lightly. It smells absolutely delicious and I could eat it right now.
"Do you have any days in your schedule that are free where you could maybe watch Christopher for a few days?" I ask uneasily.
Although I was dead set on going on a vacation with Kian, the short time between us deciding to and now has made me start to doubt it. I'm nervous about leaving Christopher behind.
"Well of course! Any days you'd like!" Audrey turns to me, her eyes gleaming when she smiles. "May I ask why?"
"Kian wants us to go on a small vacation while he has a few days off," I tell her, a nervous smile pulling at my lips.
"Just name the days," Audrey tells me, rubbing her hand over my arm, almost as if she senses my unease about the whole thing.
Audrey surprises me a lot.
Her love for people-especially children-and her general kindness towards everything. The kind of quality I wish I possessed.
