Helloooo hi how are you follow me into the pit of doom.

It's funny how a second can change pretty much anything. One impossibly small fragment of the full timeline of the universe has the power to change the lives of one, or of many.
It's just a tiny blip in the screen of life and surprisingly, one blip is enough for destruction.
An absolutely wonderful example of this would happen to be the events that occurred on September 11, 2001. I was only a child when it happened, but it affected countless lives and still affects countless lives.
One second set off a massive amount of consequences that would forever be remembered as a day of infamy. Thousands died, and thousands more were affected.
This event did not just affect lives in the United States, it affected lives all over the world.
Airports are much tighter on security, many people are discriminated against, and terrorism grows as time passes.
Some effects might not be direct, but there is no doubt that the effects were caused by that event.
Although that horrific day will forever live in history and affected thousands upon thousands of people, many horrific seconds have power like this, just on a much smaller scale.
Every day, innocent girls are kidnapped, raped, tortured, or even killed. those who make it out alive are forever changed, just because of the moment that the criminal decided to commit the crime.
Every day, people lose focus on the road for just one second, and bam. They run off of the road and run into a tree; they fail to notice the car before them and rearrend the car; they cross the median and face a head on collision. This one second can impact the lives of the person whom directly did the deed, or the people that had the deed done upon them.
It's like a chain effect; dominoes. As one person is affected, so is every other person around them. Family can grieve for loss, or struggle to pay hospital bills due to one moment.
Moments like these not only open the eyes of observers, but it opens the eyes of the person that made the mistake.
A father or mother could go out one night out of anger and get a little too drunk and then come home and bring home with them danger. Sometimes that danger is themselves.
It's hard to judge when these moments will happen. The future is undefinable, and that is precisely why everyone should enjoy every moment of happiness they recieve; every single glimmer of hope, of love, of life.
If you don't appreciate just how special each and every blessing in your life is, you'll lose them.
One moment in my life defined me. It changed my perspective on life, and of my surroundings. Whether that perspective change was good or not is for me to find out.
*****
My mind bubbles at the brink of consciousness, struggling to pull itself up and out of this black hole of nothing that it was consumed in.
It's like my mind was trying to do an impossible pull up, like when I was in fourth grade and we had to do it for a grade and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get my chin above that bar. That bar is what my mind is trying to overcome.
