Ch5 • Angel Eyes

•Operation: Markhyuck, Mission: Cupid in the making

"So you're telling me, that your Best friend is whipped for my Dorky nerd of a brother?" Mina said after taking a sip from her Starbucks Cup. Val who was right across the small table, took a sip from her Iced Americano as well before talking.

"As Whipped as Merengue" she said focusing on the chocolate cake in front of her. Mina thought for awhile, still not believing that people can manage to fall for her brother. I mean, what's there to like?

Um, Everything?

"I don't get it, how does he do it? Like why do people keep crushing on him?" She asked frustrated, remembering the days where people came to her for his number and she had to runaway and hide because of it.

"The same reason why people drool over you" Valerie shrugged, licking the chocolate from the fork. Mina looked at her in confusion.

"Me? Why me? People drool over me?" She asked, before remembering the countless gifts and letters that pile up in her locker and the sweet greetings she get from random people whenever possible. "I see your point" she said quietly. Valerie laughed. Mina was too sweet and innocently dumb/nice to realize sooner.

"You're too good, Minnie" she cooed referring to the nicmname she gave the older before giggling. The said girl pouted, grumbling at her friend. "Watch it, Lee. I'm older than you" she threatened jokingly.

"You too, Lee. I'm taller than you" she countered laughing. Mina just rolled her eyes playfully. "Whatever, you say, Milk lady" she muttered.

"By the way, what are you gonna do about all this Operation: Markhyuck fiasco" Mina asked flailing her hands about.

"If you haven't noticed, I took you out of the store so they can 'get to know each other better' or something. I haven't thought of anything else to do besides that. And it was actually not prepared for, a coincidence rather" she said thinking deeply, mindlessly picking on her cake.

"A coincidence? Is it really?" Mina asked smirking, Valerie caught up with her new found inside joke, smirking as well. "I think the fuck not" she said with the same tone, and they laughed like two classy housewives spilling some tea.

"Okay, I think that's enough gossiping for today. We should start stalking them already while it hasn't been that long" Valerie declared, standing up with her half finished drink. Mina agreed and followed her out and onto their Matchmaking adventure. Aka Operation: Markhyuck.

When they were out of the cafe and into the busy mall, Mina remembered something. Something that made her eyes dilate.

"Um, Val? I just remembered something. And I think it's bad news" she said stopping in her tracks.

"What is it?" The said girl asked stopping as well, before looking at the older. Mina looked hesitant, but spoke anyways.

"Mark's a Hetero" the mere phrase made val want to evaporate into thin air.

"Shit"

"So...They really left us here, huh?" Mark said annoyed at his friend and sister. Haechan's blushing face from a minute ago slowly vanished, also disappointed at his best friend's way of getting her plan to work.
