Blue woke me up that morning as usual. He had asked whether I would like to join him in his morning prayers. I decided to join him because after all, you'd never know when these prayers could come in handy. I heard someone talking outside our room and peeped to see Musa and Wallace talking to each other. What they were saying, I do not know. Wallace glanced at my room and obviously saw me. He then thanked Musa and left. He must have told him, I thought.
" Anything wrong Joe?", asked Blue.
" No. Nothing's wrong Blue", I replied with a sigh," Lets get dressed and see what lies ahead".
" Okay".
We came out of our room and walked towards the living room. Everyone was there already, about to be addressed by Musa. He saw us coming and said," I'm glad that the both of you are awake. I have an important issue to discuss here and I want everyone's attention.
" I spoke with Wallace today and he told me that there's a lab where he and Joe can experiment on these foul creatures and hopefully deduce the cure to this plague. Its called the Mexica Durado, owned by a man named Mark Hobbs, who I'm pretty sure is dead by the way".
His men giggled at this joke. He had smiled at this reaction and continued," So now there are two routes we can take according to this map I found", he raised the map for all eyes to see," One seemed very strenuous while the other is a quick straight shortcut through a diamond cutting firm".
He then went, stood in our midst and laid the map on the floor. He was right. The first route was a bad idea as there were too many corners and U-turns we would have to take, thus making us more prone to zombie attacks. The other one looked safer and less prone to danger than the former. When we all decided to take the second route, he stood up and said," We'll use the hospital vans and drive through the firm. We'll be leaving this place in less than ten minutes".
Everyone dismissed and left to get themselves ready. I went to Wallace's room and noticed him putting somethings from the chest to a bag pack.
" Good morning Joe", greeted Wallace who didn't looked at me.
" Did he tell you?", I asked.
" Yes he did Joe".
" And what do you think?".
" I felt he was trying to cause a gap between us".
" Really?".
" Yes. Otherwise, why would he be telling me in the first place?".
He picked up his bag, walked to me and said," I won't judge your mistakes, since you are a human being and not some god".
He patted me on the shoulder and said," We can do this Joe. If this plans works, I believe our brains put together can save humanity".
He walked away, leaving me to wonder whether he was simply a scientist or a good man.

" Heads up boys", said Musa as he held his walkie-talkie close to his mouth," We're here".
Everyone came out of the vans and stared at the nearly dilapitated building in front of us. The drive had been a silent one indeed for all of us. Not a man spoke throughout the drive, even Frank said nothing at all. Blue was reading his Bible as usual but still said nothing. It was as if we knew what lied ahead of us.
" Keep your eyes sharp!", ordered Musa," I aren't ready to lose another man here".
All of us, except Wallace, held our guns and walked cautiously towards the building. Some abandoned cars were parked outside, all of which had no one behind the wheels. It made one think why would the owners bring them here in the first place.
Suddenly, Musa told every one to stop. He too stopped and stared at his surroundings.
" What's wrong boss?", asked Frank.
" Its too quiet", replied Musa.
Suddenly we then heared loud cries behind us. We looked back and saw fleshy savage creatures with three pairs of legs and razor sharp teeths and claws. They were blind but yet still ran straight towards us.
" Maneaters!", yelled Wallace.
" Run!", ordered Musa. He was even the first to take to his heels. We followed right behind him, but the maneaters where faster than we thought, running like savage cheetahs that were hungry for days. Instinct told us to open fire, and it really helped. But still, some of them descended on some of our men and killed them horribly. Frank was among the doomed as one maneater knocked him down, bit his head and tore it off. We got to the building and sprayed bullets at them. There were just too many of them to kill. We were forced into the building against our will. There was a path which was blocked completely. Our only escape was a hole in the ceiling. Lukeman stood beneath it and knelt with one leg. He placed his right hand on his left and waited for Musa to put his leg on them. He helped Musa to get through the hole. Musa in turn helped him up, thus the duo helped each man remaining get through the hole. The last man was Erik, shooting like a madman.
" Quickly Erik!", yelled Musa," Grab my hand!".
Erik looked back at Musa and then looked at the incoming zombies. Thoughts circulated across his mind admist Musa's voice. Then he reached his final conclusion.
" Joe!", he yelled as he opened fire again," Promise me that you'll find the cure!".
" What!", exclaimed Musa," What are you doing?".
He didn't answered Musa. He killed more zombies like a fearless hero. Then one maneater pushed him to the wall and tried to bite his head off. He stuffed two grenades into its mouth and pushed it against the others coming. He dived for his guns, turned his back to see the incoming wave of maneaters, close his eyes and opened fire. The bullet hit the grenades which exploded, causing part of the building to collaspe. We ran as fast as we could to avoid getting crushed. I pulled Musa back just in time to save him from getting crushed by a large stone. However, we got seperated from the others, with no clue of where they were.
