My eyes widened as I saw the metalic brute attacking and murdering our men. I looked around and found a staircase close to my right. I raced down the stairs and dived towards a broken mainframe computer as the metallian threw a soldier who was smashed against the wall and fell down with blood all over his face. I laid my back against the computer and saw the man trying to crawl towards me.
" Help... Me...", pleaded the injured soldier as he crawled towards me. I wanted to get up and help, but the metallian grabbed his legs. His screams ceased as the monster smashed his body against the floor, tearing it into bloody human parts that flew freely in the air and landed among our men.
While the beast roared again, I looked to my left and noticed a man wearing a white lab coat, a blue shirt, brown trousers, black socks and red shoes. He hid among a pile of broken machineries, stealing frightful looks at the slaughtering of our men, cowarding backing away with fear at the metallian's roars, and clinging to a bag pack which was on his shoulder. My eyes widened when I recognised the man. I then rolled towards his hiding place, and since he didn't noticed me, I tapped on his shoulder.
" Wallace!", I exclaimed as I tapped on his shoulder.
Wallace nearly jumped out from his skin. He breathed so hard that I thought his heart would burst out from his chest.
" It's me Wallace", I said as I tried to calm him down," Calm down man".
But he didn't calm down. I noticed that he wasn't even looking at me either. Following his gaze, I saw a muscle zombie, the same kind as Musa, buried beneath a pile of stones. Only its head was visible while it's entire body was buried beneath the pile. It showed that it was very weak, but yet still had the desire to kill us. It gave a weak growl at us and tried to work its way out of the pile. Even though it's movements were slow, it did it with endurance and patience, hoping that it would get the reward it felt it rightly deserved.
" Crush... Crusher... Crushe...", said Wallace as he was starting to freak out.
I wasn't scared at all. On the other hand, a plan was beginning to form in my mind. I thought the plan was crazy, but I was then reminded of Max' words. It was on a hot day, when Max was training me like a soldier. I was trying to get up after he had successfully punched me in the stomach when he said:
" Leave your weak body. Energize your true strength".
" Wallace!", I exclaimed as I faced him," Where's the Mind Heal?".
" Its here Joe", he replied and held the bag pack tightly.
" Use it on me and that thing", I ordered, pointing my left finger at the Crusher.
" What!", exclaimed Wallace as his bewildered eyes stared at me," Switch you mind with that of the Crusher's? Are you crazy?".
A man's wounded cry was heard as his brain was dashed out from his head.
" Of course I am!", I yelled at him," But its either this or we're screwed".
" But how would we transfer your minds back without having to fight another threat?", questioned the worried Wallace.
" We'll figure out something", I replied, took of my shirt and tore it to pieces. There were two vertical bars attached to the piles. I checked whether they were firm and strong, and indeed they were.
" Tie my hands to these quickly", I ordered and nodded my head at the bars.
Wallace tied me to these bars with the pieces of my shirt in such a way that I couldn't use my teeth to loosen their hold. He brought out the Mind Heal, placed one of the headbands on my head, cautiously did the same to the Crusher and held the switch which would transfer our minds.
" Joe I'll have to admit", said Wallace," You're more crazier than I thought".
I smiled and nodded my head. Wallace sighed, closed his eyes and turned on the switch. What happened looked more or less like a dream. My environment became dark as I saw myself leaving my own body. Like an iron material was drawn to a magnet, so was I drawn towards the Crusher's body. I saw the spirit of a man passing me, looking very weak and exhausted. He too was drawn towards my body. I realised that he was the Crusher, only that his spirit was still that of a man.
I woke up, feeling very strong. I felt stones all over my body. Only my head was visible. My sight seemed to have increased too. I saw Wallace staring at me, mouth wide open, yet words refused to come out. To his right was my former body, weak as it looked, giving a weak snarl at Wallace. It tried to move its head towards its left hand to chew at the cloth that held it but failed repeatedly. It was until I heard another death cry and a monsterous roar that I became angry. With this advance strength in me, I broke through the pile of stones and rushed towards the metallian. I struck it with my right shoulder which swiped it off its feet. It growled and rushed back to its feet, but walked cautiously and studied me. The remaining men stopped firing and stared at the turn of events. Wallace too was stunned and speechless as he stood away from his hiding place, ignoring the snarls of my former body.
The metallian and I walked in circles, sizing each other up. It was indeed taller than me and seemed to be happy about it. It growled menacingly and showed off his metalic muscles to intimidate me. I too growled at him, which showed that I was getting to understand my new body.
" I don't understand", commented Lukeman," Why would a zombie want to protect us?".
" It might mean that this is no zombie", replied Blue.
" I think he knows", said Lukeman as he saw Wallace staring at me and the metallian.
" You guys should get out of here", I ordered while observing the metallian.
The men were greatly surprised. There were only four of them left, excluding Wallace, and they were taken aback by my words.
" Joe, is that you?", asked Blue in a surprised tone.
" Yes its me. Get out of here now!", I replied with a voice that was almost like that of a roar.
The men obeyed and moved as fast as they could. My eyes had slightly deviated towards them, and that was what the metallian needed. Without any growl or roar, it rushed up to me, speared me at the stomach and smashed me against the wall.
