"Valka, I don't want to trouble you but could you get me some water? I can't take going up and down the stairs." Asked a very pregnant Astrid from where she sat in bed. She was resting all the time and needed much attention due to her condition. For the last couple weeks Hiccup hadn't really wanted her to put too much strain on herself and by now the simplest tasks were beginning to get uncomfortable. So while Hiccup was being chief, Valka would stay with her daughter in law and tend to her needs.

"Oh don't worry love, I'll get it!" Valka replied and sprang up to get the water Astrid asked for.

"Ah! Thank you Valka!" Astrid sighed rubbing her round belly. It was hard to believe that she was really carrying her and Hiccup's child. A year ago, he was only her boyfriend but now she was a chieftess... A very pregnant chieftess.

She watched as a little foot slid across her belly. She giggled as she felt movement within her womb. Then the baby began to kick more... A lot. "Mama loves to feel you exercise sweetheart. I can't wait to meet you. Oh honey, I know it's getting tight in there, but there will be plenty of room to wiggle OUTSIDE Mama's tummy. Oh! Oh sweetie not there! Valka!"

"Yes Astrid?" Said Valka coming in with the water.

"The baby was kicking and..."

Valka started laughing. "Oh I'm sorry Astrid! Here, let me get you a change of pants."

"Thank you Valka! You're such a good mother in law."

"Well Hiccup's my son so you're my daughter." Valka said with a smile handing Astrid a change of pants and helping her up.

"Hey Mo- um, oh." Said Hiccup, calling for his mother but then seeing Astrid in the middle of changing her pants. "Is there something wrong Astrid?"

"Oh no dear, your wife just had a little accident." Answered Valka with a smile.

"Accident?" Hiccup asked puzzled. Wasn't Astrid too old for ummmm... Accidents?

"Yeah Hiccup," Astrid said fastening her skirt back on. "Your kid kicked me in the guts."

"Oh, OHHHHHH!" Hiccup said beginning to laugh. "I'm sorry honey!" Hiccup said still laughing. Then he knelt down in front of Astrid and rubbing her belly he said. "Now you little one, no more kicking Mama in the guts. But when you're out, you can kick up a storm, I promise." And he pressed his lips to Astrid's belly. He stood up and taking Astrid into his arms he said, "Now your turn!" And kissed her lips passionately.
